We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Lina Paola Parra a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Lina Paola, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Are you happier as a business owner? Do you sometimes think about what it would be like to just have a regular job?

I’m the happiest I’ve ever been being a business owner. I wouldn’t say never, because in life we never know what turns they take, but I don’t see myself working for someone else. They say you are happy when you do something you love. I take pride in my business, in every detail and work ethic I put into it, so I’m truly blessed. Just to think of all the hard work I had to put into other jobs I’ve had, how unappreciated I was treated, the sadness and pain people have made me feel…..only makes me strive for Success! Once you get to a level where you know how valuable you are, what you are capable of achieving, there is no thought in your mind to go back to something you were not happy with.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

My name is Lina Paola Parra, I own Ava’s Air Conditioning and Heating LLC,. We specialize in Residential and Commercial HVAC. We are in Houston, Austin and San Antonio. The name Ava’s came from my Three daughters…. Alexa, Valentina and Aaliyah. Not only is the name special to me, but also my business because it was inspired by them. With that being said I strive to provide and help with the best service and experience you can expect. I feel like a women has that perfectionist touch to anything she does. As men lead this Industry, I do want women to feel comfortable having me explain and teach them what air conditioning they have at their home. What my recommendations are, not just leaving it to others. We work with all brands, but what we sell is our service. You can have the most expensive system, but if your installation or customer service provided is not good, what does that help with? Make yourself that question and give us a call, you won’t be disappointed. That is why our motto is ” Integrity Is Our Goal”

How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?

Honestly I did not start with a big capital, but my mind did. I took a big risk, which I’m really not that kind of person to take big risks. For the first time, in a long time I told myself, you have to trust and believe in yourself because no one else will. I took that leap of faith, trusted god with all his power and here I am. Don’t ever cut yourself short of what you can achieve even at an older age or younger. Your mind is your mindset, everything done with honesty and hard work will always prosper. Your timing in life is always at its proper time, so don’t get frustrated or unencouraged. This journey hasn’t been easy but nothing great is. I’m looking forward to having many years with my business and impacting and helping many people in my community. Your ideas will take you far and beyond all your accomplishments always remember that.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?

This is a very funny topic for me, I’ve always had a good following on social media. Once I opened my Business, I received so much support from strangers than people I knew. I love how (my new friends) on my social media platform are always promoting me, showing me love. It’s s just amazing that I get to experience this from strangers. My advise is just to be yourself, show people who you truly are. That will allow you to build your social media platform.
