We were lucky to catch up with Lina Lopez recently and have shared our conversation below.
Lina, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What did your parents do right and how has that impacted you in your life and career?
What my parents got right was giving me the freedom to explore, truly explore. They let my curiosity run wild. When I was little and started taking apart my toys just to see how they worked, they didn’t stop me. They encouraged it. They saw that spark and let it grow. That kind of support, of creativity, experimentation, and wonder is the foundation of who I am today as an artist. Their trust in my imagination shaped the way I see the world and the way I create within it.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am originally from Medellín, Colombia, and I’ve been living in South Florida since early 2017. Nature has always been my greatest source of inspiration. My work carries an organic essence, but I also draw ideas from modern architecture and contemporary art, blending these influences to create pieces that feel fresh, unexpected, and distinctly my own.
I entered the world of 3D printing because I realized it offered something I’d been searching for, complete creative freedom. With this technology, I’m able to bring to life forms, shapes, and ideas that don’t yet exist, transforming imagination into something tangible.
Today, I create 3D-printed resin jewelry: rings, necklaces, and earrings. Each piece is unmistakably my style. I love experimenting, pushing boundaries, and transforming objects into new interpretations for wearable art. My work is playful and contemporary, often infused with oceanic energy and sculptural elements. Each piece is designed to be a unique artwork someone can wear, enjoy, and express themselves through.
I began making rings because I was constantly frustrated with not finding small sizes in the styles I loved. That challenge sparked a passion. Now, I combine technology, design, and art to create jewelry that celebrates individuality and solves real, everyday problems, like the lack of sizing variety or the abundance of generic, mass-produced styles.
I also love working with unconventional materials. Technology evolves quickly, and so does my desire to experiment with new mediums, paints, and eco-friendlier options. Respect for nature is at the core of my brand, so I’m always researching materials that reduce environmental impact while still allowing me to create boldly and freely.
Ultimately, I make 3D-printed jewelry that stands out. My art solves the problem of boring, repetitive designs by offering something imaginative, expressive, and one-of-a-kind.

How’d you think through whether to sell directly on your own site or through a platform like Amazon, Etsy, Cratejoy, etc.
I currently sell my work through Etsy, and I feel it’s an essential platform for artists and makers like me. Etsy has been a very friendly and intuitive place to manage my shop. It makes it easy to upload photos, write descriptions, and organize listings step-by-step. The platform also provides great tools to help present products professionally.
Running an Etsy shop is truly a full-time job—it’s not just about posting a product and walking away. To get good results, you have to be active and consistent. But when you put in the work, the platform really works with you.
I focus on creating clean, high-quality product photos from different angles so customers can clearly see what they’re buying. I also try to keep my descriptions simple, clear, and honest, explaining what the piece is, how it’s made, and what makes it special. Customer service is very important to me, so I always respond quickly to messages about sizing, shipping, or custom requests. People appreciate knowing there’s a real artist on the other side who cares.
Another advantage of Etsy is how easy and secure the payment process is. Customers have multiple payment options, and Etsy handles everything—from processing payments and managing taxes to protecting against fraud. This lets me focus more on creating and less on administrative work.
Overall, I’ve found Etsy to be a very supportive and practical platform for independent artists and handmade businesses. It helps me reach the right audience and share my work in a professional, trustworthy way.

Have you ever had to pivot?
When the pandemic happened, I reached a point where I had to rethink the direction of my career. At the time, I was working another job because my art alone wasn’t enough to support me financially. But the world slowing down gave me space to really explore 3D printing on a deeper level and commit to improving my craft.
I decided to pour all my energy into my business, creating consistently, improving my designs, and becoming much more active on social media. I started posting regularly on Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest, sharing my process, my pieces, and my story with anyone who might connect with my work.
The turning point came in 2023 when a company, New York Jewelry Week, featured a photo of one of my rings. That one post brought a wave of new followers and customers who were excited about what I was creating. It was the moment everything shifted.
As interest grew, so did my confidence. Eventually, I made the decision to quit my job and dedicate myself completely to my business. Since then, it has continued to grow, especially from 2023 to now. That pivot pushed me to trust my art, my vision, and the power of showing up consistently.
