We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful $Lim WithThePackk. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with $Lim below.
$Lim, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Getting that first client is always an exciting milestone. Can you talk to us about how you got your first customer who wasn’t a friend, family, or acquaintance?
I moved to Michigan in 2018, with a mindset that I knew I had to start from the bottom with the rap scene in Michigan. For 2 straight years, I grinded out doing free shows and talent showcases around Michigan. Since cannabis is apart of the brand, I would perform at parties called ‘sesh’. On a cold day in 2020, I was in Flint, Michigan performing at Sapo Sesh. There were 3 songs I performed and I made sure to put on a show for the crowd. When I wrapped up my performance, I walked off the stage but was meet by Sapo with a handshake and $50. What that did for me was solidified my direction and path towards the career I choose in music & cannabis.
When a person pays for your services, it’s an indication that they believe in what you do and see the value in your work. Also, it makes me want to achieve more and raise myself to another level.
$Lim, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
$Lim aka $LimWithThePackk is a rap artist and cannabis entrepreneur from the southside of Chicago. My company, Money$ide Branding, focuses on connecting companies & consumers through education, entertainment, and marketing in the cannabis space. From educational content like #StrainsWithSlim to Tours With $Lim to hosting and performing at Industry cannabis gatherings, it won’t be hard to recognize who I am. The biggest accomplishment so far in my career is my single ‘First Time’ being picked up by The Smoker’s Club/Cinematic Music. This time around next year, everything with $Lim will have scaled up to a new level.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
What helped my brand and the reputation was being authentic and being interactive. Since the brand is based off ME, there is even more pressure to watch what I wear or say or do because it can alter someone’s perception or thought of me, which is the brand. What people realize is a person that can be himself and conduct business is someone that wants more in life.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy for growing clientele is having a balanced attack between social media and in person events. Having balance among the two will allow you to gage your market in the social media world and real world more closely.
