We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Lily Schneider a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Lily, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Was there a moment in your career that meaningfully altered your trajectory? If so, we’d love to hear the backstory.
Once I was diagnosed with POTS syndrome, I didn’t know if I’d be capable to continue running my business. However, I’ve always known (from my grandparents, parents, and coaches) that whenever life throws something new at you, it’s for a reason, and we’re meant to grow from that opportunity. I then shifted my entire business goal to helping other girls and women with POTS syndrome. I didn’t know everything about it, and I still don’t, but I wanted to try my best to help.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
After a turn around of several events, I began advocating and supporting individuals with POTS syndrome. I offer 1-1 intentional fitness training, virtual training, and programming as of now, but I’m looking to specialize and add more POTS-specific services in the future.
I’m most proud of how far I’ve come in my story with POTS and post-concussion syndrome, and how I’ve turned life-changing issues into powerful stories that impact those around me. I’d like people to know that I’m an open-book who loves sharing my stories to empower others and connect!
Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
ABSOLUTELY! I love listening to podcasts and reading good books. One that has changed me for the better was Buy Yourself the F*cking Lilies by Tara Schuster. It taught me to choose myself first because you can’t help anyone with a glass half full.
If you could go back, would you choose the same profession, specialty, etc.?
Yes. I truly believe everything happens for a reason. Although I wish I had known some of the things I know now, I wouldn’t change anything because it made me who I am today.
