Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Liliana Soto. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Liliana, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
Our mission at Happy Hour Party Rentals is to bring everyone together and enjoy a happy hour no matter the age!
Being Latino, celebrations and get togethers with our family have always been a big part of our lives. The special moments created with the ones you love become the stories that are passed down to your kids and to your kid’s kids. At the core, this is why we started Happy Hour Party Rentals – to create memories and share a happy hour with those who matter the most.
We offer a variety of luxury soft playground equipment and bounce house rentals for your little ones to enjoy all around Salt Lake City, Utah. Our event rentals range from first birthdays to fun playdates with friends and to everything in between.
We are proud to serve our community and share our customizable party rentals with you.
Liliana, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I moved to Utah 7 years ago to further my career in the financial services industry. Today, aside from being a business owner I am also Head of Customer Support at a fintech start up and a proud mother to fraternal twins.
We started this business or at least the idea came to us when we were celebrating our twin’s 2nd birthday. How can we create an environment where both parents and kids have fun and help family’s plan a great time for their guests? To top it off, we also genuinely enjoy planning and hosting parties ourselves so this was the perfect recipe to create Happy Hour Party Rentals.
We offer a variety of luxury soft playground equipment and bounce house rentals for kid’s of various ages. What truly sets us apart from other party rental businesses is staying true to our three main values that make up our business DNA:
1. Creating unforgettable memories for your special day
2. Providing an unmatched service by listening, caring, and delivering on your event
3. A personalized experience by bringing your vision to life with one of our customizable packages
In addition, we wholeheartedly believe that representation matters. We’re proud to be a Latino own business and hopefully we continue to see Latino owned businesses working and growing together in this space.
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
We have found that growing your clientele has to have a multifaceted approach. Personally, we think you have to dedicate time and treat these pillars evenly to grow your clientele.
1. DELIVER. Provide the services that you promote and don’t take shortcuts for a short-term outcome.
2. CONNECT. Invest in your customers on a personal level by understanding their wants and needs and be as committed to the end result as they are.
3. NETWORK. Connect with others in the industry, if you foster those relationships right they can be your biggest advocates.
A client can feel/see when you’re invested in providing a great experience and without hesitation will book you again or refer you to family/friends which grows your business and client base.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Our social media strategy has been to be authentic and steadily consistent with our followers. I think that has worked well with our audience. We don’t get caught up on what the “experts” say of posting a reel every day, carousel post every other day, and 2-3 Instagram stories every single day– that’s just unrealistic for us. We work full-time, have kids, keep up with the admin work of the business, and simply try to stay present in everyday life.
However, when we post, we are intentional and have a goal in mind with every post. We show our audience exactly what we go through in our business, from the good to the bad, to the hectic, we share it.
Though we try to not get hung up on the likes and comments, we do think it’s important to look at our social media data to see what content is working best for our followers and understand who our follower are. It’s important to put ourselves in our follower’s shoes and ask — how can I provide a balance of value and entertainment to them? We like to post what our followers are connecting with and treat social media as a creative outlet.
