We were lucky to catch up with Liliana Lima recently and have shared our conversation below.
Liliana, appreciate you joining us today. Talk to us about building your team? What was it like? What were some of the key challenges and what was your process like?
When I first started my company, I had two employees assisting me who were important to the team and our early success. I already knew them and asked if they would be willing to assist me while I continued to get customers; they were incredibly helpful. These were the foundation of the company in its early stages. When it comes to interviewing and hiring, we now have proper protocols and procedures in place, which I did not have at the beginning of this journey. I don’t believe I would have started anything differently because I have learned so much from my failures and many experiences that have led me to develop and implement these systems and procedures.
Liliana, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I entered this industry since cleaning is something I enjoy doing. I love it when I walk into someone’s house, and it looks like a tornado ripped through it, and when I leave, it looks like nothing ever happened, and I adore the smile on people’s faces when I see how happy they are with the cleanliness of their home.
We offer a comprehensive range of services, including deep cleaning, recurring maintenance cleaning, light cleaning and laundry, à la carte, move-in/move-out cleaning, and post-construction cleaning. Also, all of our products are eco-friendly to ensure the safety of your family.
Most people don’t like coming home from work to a messy house that they have to clean up, or simply cleaning is not something they enjoy doing, and that’s where we come in. We make sure that you’re always happy and comfortable within the walls of your home, so you can devote your time to hobbies or to more pressing matters that need to be addressed than cleaning.
We are extremely proud of the culture we have built here at Wiz Cleaners, as well as the close ties we have established and continue to make with our customers as we assist them with maintaining their home. How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Our core values have guided every decision we’ve taken. It is our commitment to our core values that has earned us a stellar reputation.
Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?
My suggestion is to always be nice to your staff, to constantly demonstrate empathy, and to always lead by example. Show them how much you care and how happy you are of their accomplishments often.
You must ensure that when they come to work, they enjoy working for you and that they understand that you will always have their back.
