Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Lilian Santini. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Lilian, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Naming anything – including a business – is so hard. Right? What’s the story behind how you came up with the name of your brand?
When I started my branding company, it was very important to me to choose a name that would embody who I am and where I came from. After many considerations, The Copper Portico was born.
The supportive structure that leads to a door represents a new world of possibilities. This is often referred to as a portico and is symbolic of the supportive creative process we guide our clients through. The Copper Portico’s mission is to become collaborators with our clients and stay equally invested in their vision.
I’ve always loved copper for its color and symbolism, and growing up in Brazil this mineral was part of my daily life. Copper is commonly used to craft pots that hold unique flavors and provide a container for culture, traditions, stories and memories.
For me Copper and Portico are strongly tied to my values and represent my love for art, architecture and culture. The Copper Portico represents our company’s heritage and the creative journey that brings forth new realms of possibilities.

Lilian, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m a creative director specialized in Brand Design. Born in Brazil and with a Bachelor Degree in Languages and Literature, I moved to New York 18 years ago to study International Marketing. I fell in love with the city and decided to make United States home. My career began in project management, working with educational and cultural institutions, integral to my professional development and my connection to mission-driven organizations today.
Moving to Miami in 2015 ignited my entrepreneurial drive and I embarked on a vision to create a branding company that exceeded client’s expectations. Since then my team and I have been offering personalized strategies and visual solutions to connect brands with their audiences through authenticity and one-of-a kind aesthetics. Our portfolio includes Miami cultural institutions such as Vizcaya Museum and Gardens and national brands such as Common Threads.
Our approach is rooted in audience insights, brand messaging and modern design. We offer brand identity design, brand strategy and web development, among other related services.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
Definitely seeing my clients embrace their new brand identity and make it theirs. That’s so rewarding! When I help someone showcase who they are and encourage them to put their best foot forward, so many possibilities arise. The work I do with my clients is so much more than delivering a logo and a brand manual – we talk about their essence, their goals and the impact they want to make. When my clients show up authentically, owning their voice and their personality, the right opportunities start coming.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
Yes. My journey is about connecting with clients that are committed to add value to the life of others. Purpose-driven brands with a focus on making a difference in communities are my favorite clients. Working with woman-led business is also also a passion of mine, along with mentorships in the US and in Brazil.
I thrive among people who want to improve lives and in return, I help them elevate their brand and broad their impact.
