We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Lila Rose. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Lila below.
Alright, Lila thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. If you could go back in time do you wish you had started your creative career sooner or later?
I have sometimes considered it, but I firmly believe everything happens for a reason and when it’s meant to happen. The confidence I have in my work today is different from what I had before; it does take time to gain confidence in your artistic voice. Also, I was blessed to have a foundation of experimenting with different mediums and art styles during my senior year of high school, taking AP courses in art, which has helped me create different pieces in my art journey now.
Lila, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am a visual mixed media artist; I do a lot of photography, pyrography, woodworking, acrylic paint, watercolor, and graphic design. I enjoy creating and being an all-around creative person! As a fresh face in the art world, I am finding my creative voice again. I love color, but I can appreciate the natural grain of the wood and the fun that vibrating colors can bring to a piece. I prefer to avoid boxing myself in with one media type, so I dip and dabble a bit in it all, which you can see in my work. Some of my inspirations are the natural beauty of the world, my vivid imagination, and music! There’s something so powerful in starting with nothing and creating a fantastic piece of art that tells a story that can be interpreted differently. I want to inspire many artists to keep creating and sharing their art with the world just as I am!
I am mostly proud of how far I’ve come since I started my business and how my art has developed into what it is now. The main thing I want potential collectors to know about my work is that I put much thought and emotion into each piece. My art will consistently evolve, so enjoy the ride!
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist is how you can create something from nothing. Sometimes, I look at a sketchbook page or canvas; it just tells me what it should be and what colors it wants to be. Then when I step back and look at what I’ve done I’m amazed by my creative mind.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
The particular goal that drives my creative journey is making my inner child happy and very proud of me, along with myself, of course. If I like it and feel fulfilled at the end of the day, then no one else’s opinion really matters.
