We recently connected with Lifrancis Rojas and have shared our conversation below.
Lifrancis, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
“Unsatisfied with my job, I found refuge in the arts, which shifted my mindset. Once I stepped through that doorway, there was no turning back—it’s been 13 years since then. I specialize as a mixed media artist, working with layers, colors, lights, and shadows. Using materials like sand, diverse paper, and threads, I craft collages on canvas or wood. These collages transform into abstract paintings, known for their intricate textures that invite viewers into a tactile and visually immersive experience.”“
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
“I am originally from Caracas, Venezuela. My formal education is focused on business, holding a bachelor’s degree in business with a minor in finance from Universidad Metropolitana. Additionally, I have a Marketing certification from Full Sail University in Florida. Before transitioning into the arts, I was primarily an entrepreneur, running an audiovisual business for many years.
Before moving to the US, I lived in Mexico City for four years. In 2000, my husband, son, and I relocated to the US.
Unsatisfied with my job, I found refuge in the arts, which shifted my mindset. Once I stepped through that doorway, there was no turning back—it’s been 14 years since then. “I work closely with clients to curate artwork that goes beyond mere decoration. The goal is to evoke feelings of relaxation and happiness, so that every time they look at the artwork, they feel a sense of tranquility and joy. Many of my clients have shared that they get deeply immersed in the different layers, colors, and textures of the pieces. One client even described it as the coolest thing they’ve ever bought.”
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
As I mentioned earlier, the most rewarding aspect of my work is seeing my clients’ satisfaction. Witnessing their joy when I deliver and install artwork on their walls is truly priceless. I often receive messages from them expressing how happy and peaceful the artwork makes them feel, how it transports them to other places, and induces relaxation.
How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
“The best way to support artists is by purchasing artworks from them. Instead of buying items just to fill a space or match your sofa, invest in pieces of art that bring you joy. Don’t feel confined by trends like covering your entire house in gray and beige. Take the time to seek out artists, engage with them, ask questions, explore their art, and select pieces that resonate with you—the ones that will transform the energy of your home. By doing so, you not only support artists but also invest in your own happiness.”
