We recently connected with Life’s Luckii and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Life’s thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
When I middle school my uncle had a makeshift studio set up in his room where he use to “try” record all the time! The quality sucked but that’s something that always stuck with me. By the time I got in high school I already had a notebook of poetry and one day my dad took me to his friends studio and he help me find a beat for one and we turned it into a song and I’ve been hooked ever since!!
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Well I recorded my first actual song in high school after a long time of rapping off beats made with two pencils at a lunch table and I was hooked lol When I came back from college around 2010 my friend BeanieBoy called me one day and said he had a studio set up at home and asked if I still rapped and from that day on we made songs everyday! I started of being called Life’s Poet because I definitely had a more hip hop sound! As time past my sound changed and so did I my Nickname was Luckii and I changed my stage name to Life’s Luckii! I already had a thing for clovers and Beanie Boy made me a logo and that’s been my thing ever since! I’m proud of myself for not giving up! Even though I’m not exactly where I want to be with it yet, I have more going on now than I ever did and the people are really starting to tap in!
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
There are so many people who believe in me in real life! I hear stories everyday about “when I make it” none of the come from me! Lol I just want to keep going and growing so I can make the people who have always believed in me proud!
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
I love how it’s constantly changing and molding me! The people who have been following my journey just keep my fire alive! Getting older I’ve had moment where I felt I should quit and then some people I’ve looked up to have listen to my music and they tell me I’ve really have something and to keep putting it out there and that keeps me driven and appreciative!
