We were lucky to catch up with Libby Williams recently and have shared our conversation below.
Libby, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
I feel that the creative field choose ME. My background was in sales, management & customer service. I experienced a a disability in 2009 that caused me to have memory issues. I felt undervalued & deflated. It was during this that my nephew, Jarvis Matthews asked me to be a body paint model in his fashion show. My career was born by utilizing the ONE opportunity presented
Libby, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My platform is showing women that we exude sex appeal & beauty throughout our various stages of life: be It birthing babies or birthing a career…We matter, our bodies change, our weight might fluctuate. We’re still GODDESSES in the Image of the most High.
I am committed to working feverishly in creating a bond & sisterhood of like minded women who understand the philosophy of “each one teach one. As we learn & gain strength from each other, I am committed to pouring the lessons into our communities as my community has done for me.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
I am an overnight, over 50, model & actress with documented memory recall\retention. There IS a place in the industry for INCLUSION. I’ve been approached by various producers & directors..immediately upon of learning about my disability they understandably become concerned. I am a professional & I’m committed to not hindering filming or causing excessive delays. Felicia GeecheeOne Rivers & Kamal Carolina King Jordan have helped in devising methods onset if I can’t recall a line. I was recently presented with a “Best Actress Award” for GeecheeOne Films, “The Secret of the Emerald Green & White”
Looking back, are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
Earlier in my career, I wish I knew more about the true “art of modeling”, the ability to create shape & interest by executing proper posing techniques
