Lia, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.
I’ve come to realize that life never stops moving forward, and the things we hesitate to pursue often turn into regrets. For as long as I can remember, I’ve dreamed of running my own business and being my own boss—but fear held me back. So many people warn you that it’s too risky, too much work, or simply a bad idea. But eventually, I took the leap and started Radiant Lab—as an unemployed single mother, no less.
I wouldn’t have found the courage without a few unwavering cheerleaders by my side. Lately, I keep seeing reminders about surrounding yourself with people who embody the life you aspire to lead, and I couldn’t agree more. I’m deeply grateful to those who encouraged me to believe in myself and chase my dreams.
I also believe our children learn most from what we model for them. Words alone mean little if our actions don’t align. My journey from nurse to entrepreneur isn’t just for me—it’s for my daughter. I want her to see firsthand that it’s never too late to rewrite your story, to take risks, and to believe in herself. At the end of the day, the only limits we face are the ones we allow our mind to create.

With over 13 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner, Lia Yoon began her medical career as an Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse before earning her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree. Her expertise spans Dermatology, Family Medicine, Pediatrics, and Orthopedics, ensuring expert, well-rounded care.
In addition to her medical background, Lia is certified in Homeopathy, Nutrition, Personal Training, and Women’s Fitness. A former ballet dancer and martial artist, she understands the critical connection between movement, nutrition, and overall well-being, bringing a holistic approach to beauty and health.

Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
I really enjoy the podcast Diary of a CEO. It offers casual yet insightful conversations on highly relevant topics, many of which directly apply to running my business. One episode that stood out to me featured a body language expert, highlighting the power of vocal inflection and its impact on both interpersonal and business relationships. It was a valuable reminder of how subtle communication cues can shape interactions and influence success.
Training and knowledge matter of course, but beyond that what do you think matters most in terms of succeeding in your field?
I believe people truly value honesty and authenticity. I’d rather be upfront and risk losing a client than overpromise and underdeliver. In a world where AI has blurred the lines between reality and illusion, trust has never been more important. That’s why I choose to build my business on integrity—offering something real, reliable, and worthy of trust.
