We were lucky to catch up with Lia Lamela recently and have shared our conversation below.

Lia , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Often the greatest growth and the biggest wins come right after a defeat. Other times the failure serves as a lesson that’s helpful later in your journey. We’d appreciate if you could open up about a time you’ve failed.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

Entering an apprenticeship program for the skilled trades I decided to become an electrician. Normally it takes 4-5 years of apprenticeship but I finished my program in 3 years and became a licensed electrician. Concurrently I created and Host the Sparky Life podcast to share my story and the stories of other men and women who enter and find success in the skilled trades. Later I formed Sparky Life Solutions LLC; a construction consulting company

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?

I am a transformational leader and often fail to follow the expected norms in business. I treasure employees and am interested in their professional and financial growth. As a result I deal with high performers who provide expert service to our customers at a fare price while solving client problems

Can you share one of your favorite marketing or sales stories?

After creating our new website www.sparkylifesolutionsllc.com I wrote an ebook to assist contractor business owners rethink recruiting, development and retaining skilled trades high performers. We have also leveraged our podcast to assist contractor companies reach out to skilled trade labor to market their companies and recruit the “ right” people for their business. This also has a rub off affect of attracting more customers for their businesses
