Hi Lia, thanks for joining us today. Risk taking is something we’re really interested in and we’d love to hear the story of a risk you’ve taken.

## The Hero’s Journey: A Leap of Faith

Growing up in a large lower-middle-class family, I was told that success meant getting a degree, a good job, getting married, having kids, and waiting until retirement to pursue happiness. But none of that ever made sense to me. Nicknamed “Crazy Lia” in high school for my free spirit, I always felt destined for something different.

Despite starting on the traditional path, my life took many twists—quitting college, job-hopping, and enduring a failed marriage. I eventually found myself on the streets with just 53 cents and the clothes on my back. I had hit rock bottom.

Determined to turn my life around, I returned to a traditional job while immersing myself in the new-age world of hypnosis, meditation, and manifestation, becoming a certified hypnotherapist and manifestation coach in 1994.

For over a decade, I dedicated myself to my employees and clients, but the stress took a toll on my health. One day, after thinking I was having a heart attack, I realized I needed a change. During my recovery, I reflected on my life’s purpose. When my boss sent a list of tasks for my return, I simply replied, “I am not coming back.”

Those five words changed everything. I shed a weight of despair and soared towards my true purpose: helping people find themselves and bring joy back into their lives and work.

Sixteen years later, as an Intuitive Business Architect & Coach, I work with incredible women founders and business leaders. Helping them find their purpose and create lives and businesses filled with joy and prosperity is beyond anything I imagined.

I am grateful every day for my journey—from rock bottom to a life of abundance. A beautiful home, a loving family, inspiring work, and the freedom to travel and lead transformational retreats worldwide.

In my work, I often share that a Leap of Faith can bridge the gap between where you are now and where you desire to be. I’m living proof that the Universe will do the rest.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?

In a crowded coaching industry, it’s easy to feel drowned out, especially with my intuitive gifts that don’t fit into conventional checkboxes. For much of my business journey, standing out was a struggle. I often felt the deck was stacked against me and, more than once, I folded under the pressure.

Going along to get along seemed right at the time, but it didn’t work. Both my business and my soul suffered. After 30 years, I refuse to shrink to make others comfortable.

Because of this, people trust me. They know the person they see online is the same one they’ll meet in person. While I’ve taken unconventional paths, my message of encouragement and purpose remains steadfast.

Can you talk to us about how your funded your business?

Starting my business full-time, I relied on my own savings and a financial buffer from my husband’s growing business. However, that didn’t last long, and I needed capital for marketing and operations.

Early on, I was often the last to get paid, a familiar story for many entrepreneurs. But I knew this wasn’t sustainable. As my business grew, I learned to leverage other people’s money and take calculated investment risks to drive sales and growth.
