We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Li Li Kosek. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Li Li below.
Li Li, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s start with a story that highlights an important way in which your brand diverges from the industry standard.
Thank you for Canvasrebel for another great opportunity to share my experiences and thoughts.
We define Say Yes Bedding as a home decor brand rather than only a home textile manufacturer. We believe that your bedding should be as beautiful as its functional because they are not just for sleeping, they are part of your home decor!
From a manufacturer point- We are also the leader of capturing trends in designs and styles that works beautifully for printed bedlinen. Bedding could be very fashion and in trends!
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I was born and raised in China and moved my life to the U.S. in 2015, I m currently living in Gilbert AZ with my lovely family of 5. I love reading books about Economics and History. My favorite hobby these days is to play tennis with my friends and improve better skills time to time:) I have been obsessed with a book called The Art of War written by Sunzi more than 2000 years ago. I love its philosophy and strategy. I applied its essence to my business, my daily life ,and of course my tennis matches. How wise of Sunzi,I am always amazed!
I established my company since 2008 with the desire of wanted to work more flexibly so that I could have more time to take care of my first daughter. With a lot of failures and a lot of persistence, one of my brands Say Yes Bedding is finally on its good track. It has been serving more than 10K families in the US on room decor and continued to get more loves and attentions.
When I looked back, what really touches me the most and each time I would cry when talking to my friends or my audiences is that the very bitter beginning of the whole journey. When my business was first started here, I had 2 storage rentals for stacking my inventory. Each morning, after I dropped off the older 2 kids to school, I would carry my 9 months old baby on my back with a backpack carrier, sorted and packed the orders in the storage one by one myself till noon. My baby was soundly sleeping on my back but I was sweaty and exhausted. It was physically very tough. Those moments, I would talk to my self: God would know how hard I worked and understand the pain of building a business. God will one day let all these paid off.. that was the faith I have everyday..
I was short of experiences on brand awareness and retails, so I ended up taking a whole series of business management and MBA classes. I m constantly reading and learning when lying in bed at night while others are resting because my time is limited during the day.
I wanted to tell all of the end consumers who have been using my bedding that –Nothing makes me more happy than seeing you enjoy the fun brought by my products! Thank you for your support : )
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
Keep the repeat or loyal customers happy. Continuing getting new customers is important, however, I think keeping repeat/loyal customers satisfied is the first priority. A high quality loyal customer could contribute averagely 5 times more value to the company. We appreciate whoever repeats in buying and purchasing from us both end customers and wholesalers or resellers. Feel free to shop now directly from sayyesbedding.com . It is open for retail shopping.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Be very honest and truthful… We are always true to our customers, we try our best to educate and advice customers with the knowledge that we have had for the product we are making and the professions that we gained in the industry. For example, we will suggest customers the most appropriate care method for certain items. if you happened purchased our product, you will notice care labels are different from pillow sham to comforter. In FAQ of our website, we teach customers how to dry, how to use wash detergent etc. We also tell our readers what the pain/struggled part of the current bedding textile industry in the USA is and what to pay attention to.
