Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Lexie Williamson. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Lexie, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Do you think your parents have had a meaningful impact on you and your journey?
My mother was a manager in retail for majority of her career. She always instilled proper management and communication skills within me. She taught me how to be compassionate but yet firm. As a woman in any part of higher authority, you tend to get looked over, or thought to be weak minded. She showed me how to stand up for myself and others. I have been able to take all of the advice she has given me to become an understanding and approachable manager with The Select!
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
My name is Lexis Williamson. I am 25 years old. I am currently a service manager at The Select. I have been in the restaurant industry since i was 18 years old. I went to school to be a nurse and realized that taking care of people was my calling, just more so in a restaurant, than a hospital! I love being able to meet and talk to new people everyday! On an everyday basis I manage the staff, create schedules, forecast reservations, and resolve any problems.
I am most proud of the relationships I get to build with the guests and my coworkers. We specialize in making sure every guests feels special and has the best experience possible!
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
A lesson I had to unlearn is giving up when I feel defeated or like I can not achieve my fullest potential. It’s actually a lesson I continue to learn everyday. Now, when I feel defeated, I have to continue to push myself further and further to accomplish everything. I am responsible for all of my coworkers, so now I am not only giving up on myself, I am giving up on my team!
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I’d like to say my personality is my best quality as well as what helped me build my reputation within The Select. I am very outgoing and loving and I love to make people feel special! I love feeling like I have made a positive impact on a person’s day!
