We were lucky to catch up with Lexie Quigley recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Lexie, thanks for joining us today. Looking back, do you think you started your business at the right time? Do you wish you had started sooner or later
If I could go back in time, I wouldn’t change the timing of my business for anything. Pink Cloud Naturals was born right when it was supposed to be, during one of the most pivotal and refining chapters of my life. I was rebuilding from addiction, loss, and a complete unraveling of who I thought I was. I never planned to become an entrepreneur; I was simply walking through sobriety and healing, and the business unfolded from there.
When I first started, I had just relocated to the D.C. area for what I thought was my dream job at the dream law firm. I truly believed that was the life I had been working toward, but God had other plans. That job ended up being the final steppingstone toward an entirely new life. Around that same time, I was diving headfirst into the surrender of sobriety, detoxing my body, finding stability, and finally facing years of buried trauma and loss.
As anyone who’s walked through detox knows, healing isn’t just emotional; it’s physical. My body was purging, and my skin showed it. Having been raised in the holistic world, I finally started putting into practice what I knew about natural remedies. I leaned heavily into food as medicine, began swapping synthetic fabrics for natural fibers, and through a series of introductions, learned how to render tallow because, quite honestly, it was the only thing that soothed my skin as my body detoxed.
In the hustle and bustle of city life, I found peace in the quiet rhythm of slow living: rendering tallow in the evenings, wandering farmers markets on weekends, exploring vintage shops, and learning to listen to my body again. It was through that stillness that I realized what my soul had been trying to say all along; it was time to step off the corporate ladder. That chapter was complete.
What began as homemade tallow balm in my kitchen became a reflection of my own restoration. I wasn’t creating products to start a business; I was simply creating from prayer and healing, one jar at a time.
So, to answer your question, no, I wouldn’t have started sooner or later. If I had started sooner, I wouldn’t have had the depth of conviction and purpose I do now. I probably would have been hustling for identity instead of creating from a place of renewal. And if I’d waited longer, I might have talked myself out of it altogether. God’s timing is perfect. I started exactly when I was meant to, after walking through everything necessary to reach the women I now serve.

Lexie, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Of course! I’m Lexie, Founder and Formulator behind Pink Cloud Naturals, a faith-led, holistic skincare brand rooted in ancestral wisdom and the belief that our bodies, and yes, our skin, heal best when we return to God’s original design.
Pink Cloud began as a personal act of healing. During my own recovery and detox process, I was searching for natural skincare that aligned with the way I was living, yet everything I found on the shelves felt either toxic or greenwashed, so I began formulating my own.
At its heart, Pink Cloud Naturals is a tallow-based skincare company, but it’s really so much more than that. Every formula is intentionally crafted to support our body’s natural rhythms, especially women’s. My products are made from nutrient-rich animal fats and plant oils that mirror the skin’s own composition, helping restore balance and resilience at the cellular level.
What sets Pink Cloud apart is the conviction behind it. It’s built from lived experience, healing, and faith. I am also studying through the Nutritional Therapy Association to become a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, so everything I create is backed by an understanding of how internal nourishment connects to external skin health.
What I’m most proud of are the stories that come back to me; women saying they finally feel confident without makeup, mothers using The OG on their newborns, and customers who have tried everything finally finding something that works for them.
At the end of the day, Pink Cloud Naturals isn’t about creating perfect skin. It’s about helping people remember where healing comes from, because whether we realize it or not, we all have a story.

We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.
Excellent question! Connection and trust are the heartbeat of my business. Typically, my customers are women and families walking through their own healing stories. Recognizing this keeps me going; it’s my constant reminder of why I don’t cut corners, take shortcuts, or use fillers in my products. My goal is to make sure they always feel seen, cared for, and never just like a transaction.
I stay in touch through email and social media, but not in a “marketing funnel” kind of way. I share the why behind the products, personal reflections, and glimpses into daily life so people can connect with the heart behind the business. I’ve found that when you show up authentically, people remember it.
I also love being at local farmers markets and wellness events. You really can’t beat standing face to face with someone and hearing how a product helped their skin or brought relief to a loved one or child. Those conversations mean more to me than any number on a screen.
Brand loyalty, to me, is built through consistency, trust, and care. Every product is made with intention, and I think that’s what keeps my customers coming back, not only because the products work, but because they can sense the heart behind them.

Can you talk to us about how you funded your business?
I actually don’t really have a fancy startup story. As I mentioned earlier, I was at a transition point in my life where I knew the next step wasn’t going to include the comfort and consistency of a paycheck. So I saved everything. I knew that transitioning away from the corporate world would require time and planning, and eventually, I did it. I moved home, picked up a part time job, and got to work on Pink Cloud Naturals with nothing more than a prayer, a purpose, and a bit of savings. There was no big investor, no loan, and no roadmap. By that time, however, I was already walking by faith and a few kitchen tools.
I learned to be intentional with every dollar and reinvested everything back into the business. I gained a lot of patience, but I also knew I didn’t want to build faster than I could sustain.
Looking back, I’m incredibly grateful Pink Cloud grew organically. It keeps me grounded and continually reminds me to trust God’s plan and timing.
