We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Lexi Melone. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Lexi below.
Alright, Lexi thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Naming anything – including a business – is so hard. Right? What’s the story behind how you came up with the name of your brand?
Bali Basics is inspired by my travels to Bali. I had visited in 2019 and fell in love with the lifestyle and carefree nature out there. Flower baths are unmatched in Bali, and I wanted to bring that luxury experience back home to Vegas. I tried to keep my business name catchy, but dynamic so Bali Basics just stuck.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Bali Basics is a luxury hotel room and flower bath decoration service in Las Vegas. We’ve set out to make your romantic hotel room dreams come true (think of rose petals on the bed, and petals in the bath…but better).
We pride ourselves on only offering real rose petals (yes, we hand petal each rose). We want ensure your booking experience is easy and stress free, and that the results are gossip worthy.
I am proud to have brought back a little bit of Bali culture to Las Vegas. Vegas is an awesome city to have has our home base, and we’re excited to start expanding into micro-events and luxury engagements/proposals.
My team and I are extremely meticulous when it comes to details, which reflects in our social media posts. I’m thankful for my friends, family, and followers that have supported me through this journey. I’m so excited to see where Bali Basics will be in the future (hopefully in a city near you).
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Room decorator services have been around for years, but I think that social media has really helped our small industry boom. I had originally focused my business model on flower baths, which was a pretty unique experience even for the Las Vegas strip. It took me a little over a year to completely streamline my creative process, but that thought of “how is that heart so perfect” in the tub is what I strive for every time.
Bali Basics was one of the first companies to advertise the “X Rated” balloon banners. The elephant in the room, was now spelled out in a balloon banner above the bed. These requests is what keeps this job so fun.
I think the combination of providing flower baths and naughty balloon banners helped Bali Basics gain a reputation in our market.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
My team and I try to be consistent on social media, and stay on top of trends. We do all of our social media marketing in house, and it can be time consuming to post everyday but it is an extremely valuable skill to have. “Understanding the algorithm” is such a huge discussion, but just find your niche, stay consistent, and the business will come.
