We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Lexi Layne a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Lexi , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
The most meaningful project to me is the one that I am currently working on. I am working on a full length album, so much of this music is my story, the raw essence of my soul and creativity.
Lexi , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Hello new readers! My name is Lexi Layne, I live in Los Angeles California and I started my music journey at the young age of 6 performing on stages due to musical theater. My heart and passion has always been in the performing arts area.
I got into writing my own music when I was 15 years old and and fell in love instantly.
I now have been pursuing a music career in the “metal” genre for the past 7 years.
My my music I like to say is very raw and in your face, it comes from pure emotion and real life events that have gone on with myself in the past and present.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding thing to me is being able to express myself fully and staying true to who I really am. Putting music out that people can relate with is the most beautiful thing.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
I personally believe that I am my own personal driving force for my music. Having all of this creativity knowing I get to share my story each time in a different way that satisfies me is always the end goal.
