We were lucky to catch up with Lexi recently and have shared our conversation below.

Lexi, appreciate you joining us today. Looking back, do you think you started your business at the right time? Do you wish you had started sooner or later?

I started my blog and social media account Exploring With Lexi in February 2021. I wish I would have started it several years prior. In 2018 or 2019 I was working as a hostess and started posting for the restaurant I was working for at the time. I had always had a passion for planning activities, trying new foodies, and traveling. When I started posting for the restaurant it make me realize how I might be able to combine my passion for travel/planning with my passion for social media. I have always thought social media was a great way to connect with people but it wasn’t until after I moved to Colorado and had a little push from my family that I thought it could work. I had been posting but was sure what I was doing. I was working for two companies at the time helping with social media content and outreach this developed my skills a bit but it wasn’t until I got my internship with a blogger name Francesca who runs @findingFrancesca_ did I really start to grow and understand how I can show more people the cool spots I discover. I still work with Francesca today and she has been a huge help! I really believe everything happens for a reason so I think in the end it all worked out. I hope I can continue to show more people fun things to do and see in Denver and all over the world!

Alexis, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

My name is Lexi and I am a travel and lifestyle creator based in Denver. I focus on travel, foodie finds, and highlighting my everyday life. I strive to highlight fun things in the city and showcase a little bit of everything. My goal is to show what places are really like and my opinion of them. My audience knows that if I share something on my page it’s because I really do like it! I am most proud of how my page has developed and how much research I put behind each place/event I highlight. I think what sets me apart is that while I put tons of research into finding places and things to do I also am honest about what I like about each post.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?

It feels weird for me to say built my audience on social media because there is still so much i want to do with Exploring With Lexi. When I started Exploring With Lexi I was nervous about what people would say and think so my biggest advice is just goes for it! Don’t hold back and dont let anyone stop you from starting something you are passionate about. Social media is something that takes practice and I still struggle with it every day but as long as you are being yourself and producing content that you enjoy and feel good about that’s what matters.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?

What I find most rewarding is when I share a recommendation and people DM me saying how much they enjoy the content. I know many people look at a content creator and think it’s just posting but I spend so much time looking up events, restaurants, and things to do in the city to show my audience and try to produce the best content I can. I really enjoy exploring Colorado, traveling to new cities, and finding all the fun foodie spots, and want everyone else to enjoy as much as I do!!!! I hope my content encourages people to explore more!
