Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Lexee Love. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Lexee thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s jump to the end – what do you want to be remembered for?
I would love to leave a legacy of I accomplished what I love to do. Being a great mother first. That my children remember how much I love them and sacrificed for them. I also want to leave a legacy how I accomplished my dreams with my writing and self published books. That no matter the challenges I never gave up.

Lexee, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Well I have always been creative since I was a child. My brothers and I would video tape ourselves pretending we were a character in a story. I wrote poetry, ceramics, and anything crafty. In high school I performed in talent shows. As a child I wanted to be a professional dancer. When I graduated from high school I went to an open model call, but was rejected because I was told I was too fat. But at that time I was a size 3. After moving to Atlanta Georgia in 2002. I decided to take acting classes. That is how I got started in the acting industry. My first casting was a student film. It was exciting. I have performed onstage and in a number of feature films. My favorites are indie films because the atmosphere is so inviting and open. It allows you to be more comfortable and really get into character. I had the opportunity to work with kountry Wayne in 2022 and 2023. That was a tremendous opportunity and experience as a talent. I have also had the pleasure to meet and work with Tyler Perry. I was on the set of house of Payne and sistas. I was also in a few of his movies. I also had the opportunity to be part of the historic event of Emmett Till story that was filmed here in Georgia. Currently I am creating, writing, producing and filming my own work. This is how my business one eye over independent filmworks LLC was born. I wanted to be taken seriously in this industry and not just be seen as someone doing this as a hobby. As a female filmmaker I don’t see it as challenging because there isn’t really a formula. It is what works best for you. I just believe every project you share with the world should be better than your last. Progress gets you seen and that opens the door for more opportunities. If I could give my advice on how to start. Just do it. Place one foot in front of the other. Don’t rush yourself to the point of exhaustion. And you are your own competitor. When you think of it that way, you will produce a great product. Enjoy your journey, be proud and patient with yourself. Greatness doesn’t happen overnight.

Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?
Being honest and listen . In a world that is fast paced. We forget some of the main ingredients of great relationships in business or personal. When you are honest people will trust you and your leadership. When you listen to the people that are part of your team and are just as passionate as yourself it does create a better outcome. I believe what you put out there you receive. And those are the people and qualities you want to attract to your business. I would suggest setting a high standard for yourself, show it in action and your team will naturally follow what they see you doing. Lastly never hold back praises when there is success and your team worked together to achieve it.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
I believe my story isn’t much different than other women. I became a mother at the age of 20. I dedicated myself as a full time mother 34 years of my life. So placing my desires, hopes and dreams were placed on the back burner. But they never died. I kept writing and acting when I could. I self published two books in early 2000’s. The wives club and the girl and little brown mouse. Both on Amazon. Once my youngest started high school I decided to get back into acting full time. It has been a challenge. That is where my decision to produce my own work as well. I am now in the pre-production process of producing my first psychological thriller.
