Lex, appreciate you joining us today. Risk taking is something we’re really interested in and we’d love to hear the story of a risk you’ve taken.
Hi, my name is Lexthecreator! I’m a 24-year-old mompreneur on the climb to creating generational wealth through digital products and online businesses, all from the comfort of my home. I started my skincare business in 2021, taking multiple risks because I wanted more out of life than just the American Dream.
I went to college and studied law, which I still love, but I needed more. I wanted to be heard and make an impact within my community, so I started creating one! Back in late 2020 and early 2021, during the rise of COVID, I was bored sitting at home, trying to figure out how to make money from zero cents. I first picked up an interest in doing nails, thinking it would help the girl community. But later, I realized I didn’t have the patience or passion for nails, so I started thinking outside the box.
That’s when I decided to start a family YouTube channel, and we loved every second of it! The genuine support we received made me feel like one of the top creators I had watched growing up. The excitement of creating content and building anticipation for new episodes gave me the confidence to pursue content creation seriously. After seeing that people liked the content I produced, my boyfriend encouraged me to start our skincare business.
Risk number two: I was scared because I didn’t have a clue how to run a business, but I knew the impact I wanted to make and what I had to offer. In August 2021, A&T Cosmetics was born in honor of our daughter, who suffers from eczema. When she was a baby, it was like pulling teeth to find products that moisturized and protected her skin from irritation. A&T Cosmetics specializes in protecting all skin types using natural and organic ingredients that leave skin whispering “thank you.”
Alongside my journey in content creation and business, I also launched my podcast, The Wealthy Mom Blueprint, which coexists with my content creation mission. The podcast empowers women to thrive in motherhood, business, and creating generational wealth.
Risk number three: After dealing with life’s challenges, I told myself, “It’s all in or nothing.” Fast forward to 2025—I decided to take entrepreneurship and content creation seriously. This was my wake-up call. I started the blueprint in 2020, knowing I wanted a six-figure skincare business, and as the years passed, I grew to love content creation deeply. In the summer of June 2023, I made the decision to take the craft full-time.

How I Got Into My Business
The inspiration for my skincare business, A&T Cosmetics, came from a personal need. My daughter suffers from eczema, and as a mom, I struggled to find products that would protect her sensitive skin and provide long-lasting moisture. This led me to create my line of natural and organic skincare products designed to protect all skin types while offering nourishment and hydration.
My passion for content creation came from the joy of sharing my journey and connecting with others. Starting a family YouTube channel helped me realize that I had a voice and an ability to inspire others. Over time, I began focusing on helping others navigate content creation, entrepreneurship, and balancing motherhood and business.

How I Built My Audience on Social Media
Building my audience on social media was a journey of consistency, authenticity, and a lot of trial and error. I started creating content with no real blueprint, just the intention to share my story and connect with people who could relate. Initially, I focused on family content through my YouTube channel, which gave me confidence and momentum.
When I launched my skincare business, I used social media as a platform to share my “why.” I told the story behind A&T Cosmetics—how it was inspired by my daughter’s eczema—and showcased the natural ingredients and benefits of the products. People resonated with the authenticity of my journey, which helped me grow an engaged following.
Over time, I realized the power of providing value to my audience. Whether it was sharing tips on balancing motherhood and business, behind-the-scenes of content creation, or skincare advice, I always focused on building trust and fostering a sense of community.
Collaboration was another game-changer. Partnering with other creators and engaging with my followers in meaningful ways (like responding to DMs and comments) created deeper connections. Know Your “Why”: Start with a clear purpose. What do you want to share? What value do you bring to your audience? When you’re passionate about your content, it shows.
Be Authentic: People connect with real stories. Don’t be afraid to share your struggles, lessons, and wins—it makes your journey relatable and inspiring.
Engage Consistently: Show up regularly and interact with your audience. Respond to comments, participate in trends, and create content that encourages interaction.
Provide Value: Whether it’s through tutorials, tips, or relatable content, always ask yourself, “How does this help my audience?”
Experiment and Learn: Test different types of content (videos, reels, carousels, etc.), times of posting, and hashtags. Study what works and adjust accordingly.

Building my reputation within my market came down to three key factors: authenticity, consistency, and delivering value.
Authenticity: I’ve always been transparent about my journey, including the challenges and risks I’ve taken as a mompreneur. Whether it’s sharing how my daughter’s eczema inspired the creation of my skincare line, A&T Cosmetics, or discussing the highs and lows of entrepreneurship, I’ve remained true to my story. People resonate with authenticity, and it helped me establish trust and credibility with my audience.
Consistency: Showing up consistently across platforms was another major factor. Whether it’s posting valuable content on Instagram, creating relatable YouTube videos, or engaging with my podcast listeners, I maintained a regular presence. This consistency helped me stay top-of-mind for my audience and reinforced my commitment to my brand and mission.
