Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Lex Nichelle . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Lex, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. How did you learn to do what you do? Knowing what you know now, what could you have done to speed up your learning process? What skills do you think were most essential? What obstacles stood in the way of learning more?
When it came to learning the craft of rap, it began when I was 13. I had an infatuation with entertaining while putting words together that no one would think of. Having a wide vernacular will be very essential when taking part in the art. The obstacles I’ve faced while trying to learn to master the craft would be writers block, when a writer gets into that mode it hinders the creative process. Allowing yourself to be free at all times is essential when music is your passion.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I go by the stage name “LexNichelle” who is that boss, aggressive, in your face Rapper. I got into this industry at 13 when I joined a girl group. At the age 19 I decided to take rap seriously when I found that the talent i have is worth display and presented myself as a solo act. I also own a Press-on nails business. I always had a passion for the beauty industry. When it’s time to put the pen down I’m indulging in makeup, hair, and nails. When being a rapper and business woman it is imperative to have discipline, putting yourself on a schedule and set short term goals frequently. What sets me apart of many is the fact that most people can feel where I’m coming from but I’m untouchable. My hustle, work ethic, and hunger is something special. I’m most proud of the moment I was able to have my first ever performance to open up for a big artist. The message behind LexNichelle is to always be on point with whatever you involve yourself in, be confident, be exactly who God made you and have fun with life.
Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative?
Something non creatives will struggle to understand when it comes to my journey is that right now this is my main focus. I don’t have the energy or time for anything that won’t elevate me for the future because I want to make that 13 year old girl who dreamed of this happy!

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
The goal that is driving my creativity is the hunger to lead. Show girls and women that who we are is exactly who we need to be. Showing love to every person I walk in a room with is a huge part of the journey. I’m no better than the next and that message is important for 2023
