We recently connected with Lewis Crumsey and have shared our conversation below.
Lewis, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Do you wish you had waited to pursue your creative career or do you wish you had started sooner?
I wish I had started my dj/producer journey earlier in my life. The amount of fun I’m having performing and sharing the music I love has been such a joy, Not only from DJing but from my production side as well. Being able to create my own take on the music I love has been a exciting and challenging experience. I just wish sometimes I started sooner.
Lewis, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
For starter my name is Lewis. My artist name is MrJupiter. I’ve been DJing and Producing for 4 years. I mainly produce house, techno, and some trance style music. I was born and raised in Port Chester, New York. Relocated to Raleigh,NC during high school years. I am one cofounder of Space Camp Music Group which is a events promotion company, We bring in Edm artists from all over the world. Soon well start bring in jam bands and other genres as well. We work with several venues in the triangle area for our events.
We got started in the industry since we’re all DJs/producers in Space Camp. So naturally we decided to start doing our own events. We’re a local company here in the triangle. The company was created as a means to express creativity and musical talent on a local level in North Carolina. The SCMG mission is to create memorable events in a safe and positive environment, that allows patrons and artists to express themselves to the fullest without any judgement, and showcase local and up-and-coming talents.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
Goal is keep getting better with my music production and DJ skills personally and signing to my favorite labels and sharing my music all over the world. As for Space Camp, one of the goals is to eventually throw our own festival.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
Seeing people enjoying my music just as much as I do.
