We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Leticia Vernizzi. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Leticia below.
Leticia, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
I think success is defined by how compromised you are with what you do. What it takes to be successful is commitment and focus, whatever you want to be successful in. Sometimes we fail, and we think about give up, we get frustrated, and if we do not have commitment with ourselves, if we do not respect our growth journey, we will not reach success, because success demands learning, and you only learn if you fail a plenty of times and even though, keep trying until you make it work.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am a photographer. I have always been in love with photograph since my childhood in Brazil and I cannot remember the exact moment I turn my passion into my business, because love for the photograph was present during the entire journey, so it just happened naturally. I am most proud of how I run my business with joy and focus, always providing the best to my clients, keeping them comfortable and feeling great during our sessions, and making them happy and satisfied with the results. The memories we created are unique, I feel really proud of it, because those things does not have a price, it is just special. We, photographers, have to know how to create a connection with each person, and this is my differential: I really feel the excitement my clients are feeling, and I understand what they are visualizing for the photographs, something that match with their personality and lifestyle. And I make it real!
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I am twenty years old. I traveled to Europe by my own, to study, when I was thirteen, without knowing a single word in English. When I was seventeen, I became fluent in that language. I was the worst Math student in High School, and I was accepted in Law School when I was eighteen, with a scholarship. What I am trying to say is that every step of our lives demands resilience, and with my photograph it is not different. There are still a lot of difficulties I face trying to be a better photographer. Sometimes people still ask about how young I am to run my own business and how does that impact on my professional capability. In moments like that, we have to be resilient, and the best way to explain yourself is showing your value. I already conquer a lot, and I am just getting started.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
Connection and freedom. I feel close to my clients, almost as if I was their best friends. Some of them ask my opinion in their outfits for the photographs, and they feel comfortable to talk for hours with me about their lives and how my photographs will help them to love themselves even more and increase their self steem. My work brings me a lot of amazing people! Besides, it is very rewarding feel free to exercise my creativity with my portraits. Whenever I have a crazy idea for a photoshoot, I know I can count on my models to do that with me, and we ended up with something totally new and full of emotions, that is art!
