We were lucky to catch up with Leticia Suprovici recently and have shared our conversation below.
Leticia, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We love asking folks what they would do differently if they were starting today – how they would speed up the process, etc. We’d love to hear how you would set everything up if you were to start from step 1 today
If I were to start Beyond Event San Diego today, with the knowledge I have now, here are a few key things I’d do differently:
Emphasize Technology Integration from Day One: I’d focus on building an even stronger foundation in creative technology tools, ensuring that we have the software, tools, and platforms necessary to streamline the creation of unique event experiences early on. This would allow for greater efficiency and scalability.
Develop a Strong Online Presence Earlier: Creating a strong digital brand presence, with a well-optimized website, engaging social media content, and consistent SEO practices, would be an early priority. Investing in digital marketing tools would help the brand grow faster.
Expand the Creative Team Sooner: Bringing in a larger team of creative professionals earlier would have allowed for faster growth and the ability to take on more clients. Collaboration with like-minded designers and developers would add more diverse creative input from the start.
Client Management System: I’d implement a robust CRM system early on to manage client relationships more effectively and efficiently. This would improve customer service and maintain clear communication channels from day one.
Focus on Partnerships: Building strategic partnerships with other businesses—whether software companies, local artists, or vendors—would accelerate growth and bring new perspectives to our designs and technology-driven event planning.
Create a Sustainable Work-Life Balance: Prioritizing processes that would balance work and family life more effectively. I would develop a more streamlined workflow and delegate tasks earlier to avoid burnout while maintaining high service quality.
Leticia, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
About Me and Beyond Event San Diego
Since childhood, I’ve been blessed with the gift of being social. I’ve always known I was meant to work with people, sharing happiness, and using my talent to create something meaningful. From an early age, I was drawn to colors, patterns, and designing spaces that could transform ordinary moments into extraordinary ones. My journey into event planning began with a deep desire to channel my creativity into work that brings joy to others, and that’s how Beyond Event San Diego came to life.
Though I have a technology background and run a digital services company, I knew my heart was in creating personal experiences for people. In 2023, I launched Beyond Event SD to offer a full-service event planning experience where anyone can enjoy luxurious and thoughtful decorations without feeling financially strained.
What We Do and What Sets Us Apart
Beyond Event San Diego specializes in full-service event planning and decor, tailored to each client’s needs. Our unique value lies in how we combine creativity with technology. Using cutting-edge software tools and creative applications, we design and bring event visions to life seamlessly. We ensure that every detail, from decor to logistics, is executed with care and precision.
What sets us apart is not just our artistic approach but our tech-savvy methodology. Powered by my other company, Skipdwait Inc, we utilize technology to automate processes, optimize designs, and streamline our business operations. This allows us to be efficient while never compromising on quality or personal touch.
Solving Problems for Our Clients
We understand that planning an event can be stressful, so we take care of everything. By using a blend of creative design and technology, we manage all the intricate details to give our clients peace of mind. From big corporate events to intimate family gatherings, we make sure every aspect of the event is flawless, allowing clients to fully enjoy their special moments without worrying about the process.
What We’re Most Proud Of
I’m incredibly proud of the connections we’ve built with our community. Each event gives us a window into people’s lives, sharing in their happiness and milestones. We’ve had the privilege of working with major brands like McDonald’s, Chick-fil-A, banks, and school districts, but what brings me the most joy is seeing how we transform personal celebrations into unforgettable experiences.
Our ability to combine artistic design with technology has allowed us to serve the San Diego community in ways that truly set us apart. I’m proud of how our events not only look beautiful but also run smoothly, thanks to our innovative approach.
What Potential Clients Should Know
At Beyond Event San Diego, we believe that life is meant to be celebrated, and we strive to make every occasion extraordinary. Whether it’s a milestone event or a small gathering, our goal is to wow with both design and execution. By utilizing the latest technology alongside our passion for creativity, we ensure that every event is a memorable experience.
When you work with us, you’re not just hiring an event planner—you’re choosing a partner who is as dedicated to your vision as you are. With the support of Skipdwait Inc managing the technical aspects of our business, we are able to automate and streamline our processes, making the planning experience seamless for you. We are here to spread joy, one event at a time.
Can you share one of your favorite marketing or sales stories?
One of my favorite marketing stories comes from when we first landed a corporate client, and not just any client—McDonald’s. At the time, Beyond Event San Diego was still small, just starting out, and most of our work had been with individual families and smaller community events. We were proud of what we had built, but we knew that stepping into the world of corporate clients would take us to the next level.
The Initial Contact
When we were contacted by McDonald’s to plan an event, it felt surreal. Here we were, a relatively new company, and suddenly, we were given the opportunity to work with a brand that is known globally. I knew this was going to be a huge leap for us—big exposure, but also big expectations. We couldn’t just meet expectations; we had to exceed them.
At that moment, I realized we had to put everything we had into this. The stakes were high, and I felt the pressure, but I also knew that this was the kind of challenge that could set the tone for the future of our business. I committed to delivering not just a great event but an extraordinary experience.
The Execution
We didn’t have the resources that larger event planning companies had, but what we did have was passion, creativity, and a talented team. I pulled together our designers and staff and explained how crucial it was to make this event a success. Everyone knew the importance of this moment. We took a deep dive into the McDonald’s brand, their values, and what they wanted to communicate through their event. Our focus wasn’t just on making the event look good but making sure the experience was seamless and unforgettable for everyone attending.
Taking the Risk
It felt like we were walking a tightrope—balancing the need to impress a corporate giant while staying true to our roots. We took risks in design, pushing our creativity to new heights, and we invested extra time into every little detail, ensuring that everything was perfect. There were moments when it felt overwhelming, but the drive to succeed kept us going. We used every resource we had—time, energy, talent—to ensure that this event would be one for the books.
The Outcome
The event was a massive success. The client was thrilled with our execution, and the feedback was incredible. We didn’t just pull it off; we delivered beyond expectations, which is the standard we strive for in every event we plan. That experience taught me that even when the odds feel stacked against you, it’s your commitment, creativity, and ability to step outside your comfort zone that truly sets you apart.
From that point on, our reputation began to grow, and we started receiving more calls from corporate clients like Chick-fil-A and local banks, but McDonald’s will always be a milestone for us. It was the moment we proved, to ourselves and to the community, that we could play in the big leagues and still deliver a personal, extraordinary experience.
How do you keep your team’s morale high?
When it comes to managing a team and maintaining high morale, one of the core values we live by is honesty. At Beyond Event San Diego, we believe in treating others the way we want to be treated—this applies not just to our clients, but to everyone within the team. By creating a culture of openness, transparency, and respect, we foster an environment where everyone feels valued and empowered to contribute their best work.
Building Long-Term Relationships
One of the things that drives both our team and our success is our commitment to seeing our clients as more than just one-time customers. We view each client relationship as long-term. Every event we plan opens doors to new relationships and provides access to people’s most intimate and important celebrations. We don’t take this responsibility lightly, and we remind our team that they aren’t just setting up a party—they are helping create memories that will last a lifetime.
From engagement parties to bridal showers, baby showers to christenings, milestone birthdays to graduations, we are there at the heart of life’s biggest moments. These events are so much more than just decorations and logistics—they are life’s celebrations. We touch people’s hearts through the work we do, and we hope that every event we deliver makes that day special, one event at a time. This purpose-driven approach inspires our team to stay focused on the bigger picture.
Maintaining High Morale
Keeping morale high in an event business, which can often be fast-paced and stressful, requires balance and a sense of purpose. We remind our team of why we do what we do and encourage them to find joy in each experience. One thing that helps immensely is creating a supportive environment—whether it’s offering praise for a job well done, providing opportunities for growth and learning, or ensuring everyone has the chance to rest and recharge.
We also celebrate our successes as a team. After every major event, we reflect on what went well and how we’ve contributed to making someone’s day extraordinary. This reinforces the pride we take in our work and builds camaraderie. Teamwork is key, and knowing that we all have each other’s backs, especially when the pressure is on, is what keeps everyone motivated.
Emotional Connection
Because we are often a part of the most special moments in people’s lives, it’s impossible not to feel a personal connection to the work we do. For the team, being able to help celebrate milestones such as weddings, baby showers, or even big birthdays is deeply rewarding. We encourage our designers and planners to see beyond the décor, to feel the emotion behind the event. We are not just creating a beautiful space; we are helping to tell a story, a chapter of someone’s life.
This emotional connection adds meaning to our work, and it’s something that keeps morale high. When you know that you’ve touched someone’s heart, it makes even the hardest, most stressful days worth it.
