We recently connected with Leticia Isabelle Negrete and have shared our conversation below.

Isabelle, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?

Thank you so much for having me. I truly appreciate the spotlight on our efforts. It’s definitely a passion brought to life and to be able to share it with all of your readers is a great privilege.

Jesse and I met by coincidence at the age 12 & 14, through mutual friends. We became inseparable since the first day. He was my best friend and within a year of meeting, became the father to our child. Being together so long put us through many trials and tribulations, some of which we conqured, and others which assisted in our growth. The road has never been an easy one, to say the least, but the love we shared for one another was plenty to get us through. In 2007 after having our third oldest, we talked about creating a motivational clothing brand, something to serve as a daily reminder to those around us, to keep pursuing their goals; If we could manage to be successful considering our circumstances, anyone could. In 2013 we finally gave birth to NVRSTP-Nonconformist, Values, Respect, Sacrifice, Trust, Power (all the ingredients necessary to reach a goal) and boy was it a hit! The brand quickly transformed into a community services organization; with clothing sale proceeds going towards funding local give-back events for the community. In time, we expanded our “Family Tree” to include An annual Women Empowerment Project, by NVRSTP Shining & Music blog by NVRSTP The Music that we hope to eventually turn into a Music Magazine. Expanding has allowed us to serve a larger demographic and in turn allows us to live out our Mission.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

NVRSTP is like a big family tree, with each Branch representing a different group but sharing the same mission: To Spread hope and bring people together. NVRSTP has a goal of hosting a minimum of three events a year; from feeding the less fortunate, to community clean-ups and Adopting a family each year, during the holidays. In addition, NVRSTP shining is a Tooth gem jeweler and hosts the Annual BeYOUtiful Project every May; A mini event that bring females together to celebrate each individuals success and empower one another for greater success. It’s a safe space where gals can be vulnerable and grow from others experiences. NVRSTP the Music is a Blog; where local music artists are spotlighted though a one-on-one interview. We hope to eventually become the next “Rolling Stone Magazine”. Moreover, is JnegreteCreations; its our pride and joy. Our photography services consist of offering low cost photo services to those unable to afford high priced photographers. We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to have their special moments captured regardless of income status. Although covid times were somewhat of a set back for NVRSTP because we were unable to be as creative as our true potential, We still managed to successfully Host the 4th annual BeYOUtiful project (virtually) as well as give local families a complimentary “Front Porch” photo session, allowing them to commemorate such uncertain times.

Do you think there is something that non-creatives might struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can shed some light?

Even long before we embarked into this creative industry, We had a deep passion for art, photography and giving back. So being able to bring this vision into fruition has served a tremendous purpose, not only for others, but even for our immediate family. One thing that many non-creatives have trouble understanding is the lack of support by (noncreative) friends and family. It often seems that strangers are more likely to support ones efforts. This could possibly be because they are unaware of all of the time and talent that goes into the process of creating or perhaps they don’t express their genuine support because they know you on a personal level and can’t seem to take you seriously. Whatever the case, a little bit of encouragement goes a long way in keeping creatives motivated. NVRSTP chasing those dreams!!

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?

Since there are so many moving parts of NVRSTP the idea is to remain consistent in growing each one until we are able to be fully self sufficient, which we hope will open up new doors and bring greater success. However; our main focus is to grow the BeYOUtiful Project by expanding our service area and creating a tour of dates and travel stops throughout the United States. Speaking at Highschools, sharing our story and mission all while providing photography services, and interviewing music artists. The Idea is to establish a more prominent rapport that will allow us to travel, providing our services to a larger demographic; therefore leading to higher success.
