We were lucky to catch up with Lester Miranda recently and have shared our conversation below.
Lester, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today One of the most important things we can do as business owners is ensure that our customers feel appreciated. What’s something you’ve done or seen a business owner do to help a customer feel valued?
Be a Good Listener! …what they are trying to say when they want to archive a new style or something to improve their life in some areas but they think they can’t explain you with exactitude. Be a good listener in one on one private service need to offer all the good intention to hear what people wants o needs to achieve, something that probably will change the way that they see themselves as soon the get a new style. Make the person feel like to have the power to do everything what they want to do just with the way that they feel. Be honest and enough confident with yourself to project that on your customer and after that get a positive feedback of the customer saying that I really listened.
Lester, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My interest for beauty started 22 years ago when I was in high school in San Juan, Puerto Rico (where I am from). Following my passion for beauty after cosmetology school, I started working for prestigious salons in Puerto Rico, until 2010 when I moved to Miami. After few years in the industry, my career was getting more involved in salon management and Team leadership for a corporate salon, getting the opportunity to grow as a professional and also supporting others to build their business together.
In 2019, I decided to continue my journey and take my business into the next step where I opened my suite in Tampa, Fl where guests can expect a completely personalized and private pampering.
Being entrepreneur required organizational skills, responsibility, focus and be clear on your goal always thinking big, specially when your are in completely control over your schedule. Be sure you do know your customer to offer everything what they need. Being in Tampa, gave me not just the opportunity to get local customers, also people who travel from other states and stopped to get their services with you, or even better getting the opportunity to travel with them to other cities when their life require you.
Love and truly enjoy what you do are the most key important part to achieved whenever you do in life. When you do work with people they will noticed and appreciate it that. And that’s how you build relationship with them. Definitely, being specific in your goals, target and mission in life, makes you connect with the right person.
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
My best source of new clients definitely I have to say its been by referral from other existing client. I am aware every business have their own specific clientele and multiple business can offer similar services but when you do have your perfect client in mind and you truly understand their needs they will talk to their friends about you and those friends will come to visit you. Thats the best compliment that I always will have and will appreciate from them, that the people that I like, the one who believes you, trust you and support your business because I will do the same for them. Also, when they take their time to do reviews, it’s a another way to let other people know about how great you did in their life.
Any advice for managing a team?
Hold your word and be accountable! People will trust you, respect you, and be able to do business with you.
