Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Lester Filer . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Lester , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. One of the most important things we can do as business owners is ensure that our customers feel appreciated. What’s something you’ve done or seen a business owner do to help a customer feel valued?
I Have repeat customers who particularly only use me as their Dj and also refer me to other individuals they know, so I show them appreciation by giving them discounts or give them a free event because they brought me so much business.
Lester , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I Got Into Djing When I Was in the 10th Grade but always loved Music. I Started Out Using CD’s back then which was not too bad , but when mixer’s came out that made it 100 times easier lol. I didn’t really take it serious though until 2019 and bought all the equipment from my 401k after getting fired from the last job I worked. I think that gave me the push I needed to start my business and I haven’t looked back since, Covid kinda messed up the whole vibe but it’s starting to get back to regular bookings. The name of my business is (Stay On Point Entertainment) because we focus on staying on point at every event from big to small , pleasing the customers and audiences is our main focus. We do all kind of events as long as it needs a Dj , we show up and show out. We also have a wide variety of music and genres, just trying to build a great business and please all customers in their own special way.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
The number one thing that helped me build my reputation is my punctuality, reasonable prices and a wide variety of music with the option of having your music dirty or clean. I pride myself on be punctual to every event, that’s why I’m an hour early for each event so I have no issues with time. I also give customers the option of making a playlist for their event and I provide lights and mics if needed
What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
The best way is advertising on all social media outlets and posting on the regular, my main source is Facebook because it reaches a wide variety and also have many business groups you can join and advertise your business. Also having a website that people can review your work and check pictures and videos of the events you have done, social media is key.
