We recently connected with Leslie Langie and have shared our conversation below.
Leslie, appreciate you joining us today. What did your parents do right and how has that impacted you in your life and career?
The one thing my parents did right, besides choose to have me, is to teach my sister & I that we are responsible for our own happiness. For me, being responsible for my own happiness has led me to try new things, take risks, and tend to the garden of my soul; for in the end if I don’t prioritize my happiness I should not expect anyone else to.
Leslie, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am a reiki touch practitioner, through reiki I help to balance the flow of energy through the body, helping, to return the body to a more relaxed state, which eases anxiety, helps to release stress and trapped emotions in the body which creates an environment conducive to healing & well-being I am a bone reader, I throw bones, an ancient form of divination where bones and curios are “thrown” and then read to help the querent receive the answers they seek.
Most times when people come to me for a reading some part of them already knows the answers. A bone reading provides guidance, insight and most times confirmation, to help you make decisions more confidently as you navigate life.
I am also an herbalist, I create herbal salves, lotions, potions and teas to help with with ails you everything from eczema to sciatica, I have a rub for that. Small batch, all natural , using organic herbs, many of them grown myself.
Training and knowledge matter of course, but beyond that what do you think matters most in terms of succeeding in your field?
Besides training one of the most important skills to practice is consistency, it is the key to success. Waking up daily without fail working on my vision for myself and my business is not only what has contributed to my success but it also keeps me going. Through all of the changes that business brings if you are consistent you will reach your goals & your hard work will not go unnoticed.
If you could go back in time, do you think you would have chosen a different profession or specialty?
If I could go back would I choose To be an herbalist, energy worker & Bone Reader? I would have to say no, because I didn’t choose it, it chose me. It was very hard initially for me to be open about my gifts, it was hard to explain what reiki is and why you should allow me into your energetic field. I was afraid of judgement, I was afraid of being laughed at, and coming from a Christian background I was afraid of what people who knew me when I was “super Christian” would think of me. It would’ve been much easier, & more acceptable to just go to culinary school.
But…
I wouldn’t change a thing, I’d do it all again
