We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Lesley Nase a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Lesley thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. One of the things we most admire about small businesses is their ability to diverge from the corporate/industry standard. Is there something that you or your brand do that differs from the industry standard? We’d love to hear about it as well as any stories you might have that illustrate how or why this difference matters.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
When I took over running the family business nothing was on a computer, not the books, reservations, maintenance schedules, and certainly not a website. the business changed quickly from everything done by hand to a strong online brand presence. As a destination spot in the camping industry, the timing was perfect and the business grew.
Then came a 100-year flood that covered three-fourths of the land damaging a major part of the infrastructure. No time to think about what was lost, I just needed to take steps to rebuild, Some actions worked and others were dead ends but I didn’t look back just forward.
We’d appreciate any insights you can share with us about selling a business.
Just before my family’s business was devastated by a flood I knew it was time to get my message out into the world by creating my own business. I stepped into the role of managing the family business after my dad’s death because I was the only one qualified and interested in it. I hadn’t planned on doing it forever.
I had the soul purpose of helping people find their inner guidance so that they can discover their voice and create wealth and well-being. Knowing what I wanted to do after running the family business helped me move into a new business role.
