We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful LeShundia Porter – Session. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with LeShundia below.
Alright, LeShundia thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What was it like going from idea to execution? Can you share some of the backstory and some of the major steps or milestones?
It all started in December 2023. I was working my 10 hour a day warehouse job, drained—physically and mentally. The 9-to-5 grind had me exhausted, and worst of all, I was missing out on moments with my family. I knew I wanted more: more freedom, more financial security, and more time to actually live my life.
One day, while scrolling online, I came across a woman talking about digital marketing and how she was making passive income through social media and digital products. It was like a light bulb went off. Could this be the way out? Could I create a business that would give me the freedom I craved while helping other women do the same?
That same night, I dove headfirst into research. I found a digital marketing course that promised to teach me everything—social media strategies, affiliate marketing, content creation, and, most importantly, how to make money online. I didn’t hesitate. I invested in myself, and from that moment, I was all in.
Over the next few weeks, I became obsessed with learning. I studied, implemented, and tested different strategies. I spent late nights building my brand, designing digital products, and crafting a business model that aligned with my mission: helping busy 9-to-5 women escape the burnout cycle by creating passive income streams.
Launching Social Gem LK wasn’t just about making money—it was about creating a movement. I wanted to show women that they didn’t have to choose between a paycheck and their peace of mind. I started sharing what I learned, and soon, my audience grew. Women just like me—tired, overworked, but ambitious—started reaching out, eager to learn how they could build their own digital income streams.
That’s how Social Gem LK was born. From an idea sparked by a single social media post to a full-fledged business that empowers women to take control of their time and income. And the best part? I’m just getting started.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Meet LeShundia Katrice: The Founder of Social Gem LK
For those who may not know me, I’m LeShundia Katrice—a digital entrepreneur, content creator, and business strategist passionate about helping ambitious 9-to-5 women create passive income online. I know firsthand what it’s like to feel trapped in a job, burnt out, and longing for financial freedom. That’s why I built Social Gem LK, a brand dedicated to teaching women how to leverage digital marketing, social media, and digital products to create an additional stream of income—without having to quit their jobs overnight.
My Background & Journey into Digital Business
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Alabama A&M University and a Master’s in Human Resource Management, so business strategy and efficiency have always been my strong suits. Even before launching Social Gem LK, I was constantly seeking ways to work smarter, not harder—experimenting with dropshipping, print-on-demand, and other online business models to create financial independence. But it wasn’t until I discovered digital marketing that everything clicked.
I started my business in December 2023 after seeing a woman online talk about making passive income with digital products. That moment changed everything. I jumped into learning digital marketing, enrolled in courses, and implemented everything I learned—building Social Gem LK from the ground up. Now, I’m helping other women do the same.

✅ 1-on-1 Strategy Calls – Personalized coaching sessions where I help clients map out their digital business blueprint.
✅ Digital Products – E-books, templates, and planners that make it easier for women to launch their online businesses.
I break down the complex world of online business into simple, actionable steps that anyone—even those with no prior experience—can follow.
What Sets Me Apart?
What makes Social Gem LK different is that I’m not just teaching theory—I’m living proof that these strategies work. I built my brand from scratch while working a demanding job, just like the women I now help. I understand their struggles, their time constraints, and their fears, which is why my approach is realistic, practical, and results-driven.
I don’t believe in quitting your job with no plan. Instead, I teach sustainable, low-risk strategies that allow women to build wealth while still maintaining their financial stability.
What I’m Most Proud Of
I’m most proud of the impact I’m making. Seeing my clients go from overwhelmed and confused to making their first sale online is incredibly rewarding. I’ve helped women gain confidence, create additional income streams, and start building the lives they truly want.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
How I Built My Social Media Audience from 0 to 12,000
Building my audience on social media wasn’t an overnight success—it was a strategic and intentional process that took consistency, learning, and showing up even when I didn’t feel like it. When I first started, I had no idea how to create content that attracted and engaged people. But I knew one thing: I wanted to build a brand that resonated with busy professional women who wanted to make passive income online.
The real game-changer for me was investing in a digital marketing course. That course opened my eyes to the power of content creation, consistency, and providing real value. It wasn’t just about posting randomly—it was about understanding what my audience needed and showing up with solutions.
Here’s what worked for me:
✅ Content Strategy – I learned how to create content that wasn’t just about me, but about helping my audience. I focused on educating, inspiring, and entertaining through posts that solved their problems, answered their questions, and motivated them to take action.
✅ Batch Creating & Scheduling – One of the biggest challenges with social media is staying consistent. I tackled this by batch-creating content (filming and writing multiple pieces at once) and scheduling it out in advance. This allowed me to stay consistent without feeling overwhelmed.
✅ Providing Value – Instead of just posting for the sake of it, I made sure that every post either taught something, solved a problem, or inspired action. Whether it was a tip about passive income, a behind-the-scenes look at my journey, or a motivational post, I ensured that my audience walked away with something valuable.
✅ Engagement & Community Building – I didn’t just post and disappear. I engaged with my audience—responding to comments, answering DMs, and interacting with my followers. Social media is about building relationships, and I made sure my community felt seen and heard.
✅ Testing & Tweaking – Not every post performed well, and that’s okay. I paid attention to what worked and what didn’t, adjusting my strategy based on analytics. I learned that certain types of content (like behind-the-scenes and personal stories) performed better than others, so I leaned into that.
Advice for Those Just Starting Out
If you’re just starting to build your social media presence, here’s my best advice:
💡 Start with a Clear Purpose – Know who you’re speaking to and what value you’re providing. The clearer you are about your audience and message, the faster you’ll grow.
📌 Be Consistent, Not Perfect – You don’t have to post every day, but you do need to be consistent. Pick a schedule you can maintain and stick to it.
🎬 Batch Create Your Content – Avoid burnout by planning and creating your content in advance. Set aside a day to film, write captions, and schedule posts.
📢 Engage, Don’t Just Post – Social media is about building connections. Respond to comments, ask questions, and interact with your audience to create a loyal community.
📊 Track What Works & Adapt – Pay attention to your analytics. What type of content gets the most engagement? Do more of that. If something isn’t working, tweak it and try again.
🚀 Don’t Overthink It—Just Start – You don’t need to have the perfect setup, the best camera, or a flawless strategy. What matters is taking action and learning as you go.
At the end of the day, social media is a long game. But if you show up consistently, provide value, and genuinely connect with your audience, growth will follow. I went from 0 to 12,000 followers by staying committed to the process—and so can you!

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
The Most Effective Strategies for Growing My Clientele
One thing I’ve learned in business is that visibility is everything. If people don’t know who you are or how you can help them, they won’t become clients. That’s why I focus on a multi-pronged approach to growth—networking, content creation, and building an engaged community.
1. Getting Out & Networking
Social media is powerful, but nothing beats in-person connections. Attending events, conferences, and networking meetups has been one of the most effective ways to grow my business. Every time I step into a room full of like-minded entrepreneurs, I walk away with new connections, collaborations, and opportunities. The key is not just showing up but being intentional—introducing myself, sharing what I do, and following up with the people I meet.
2. Building an Email List
Social media is great, but you don’t own your followers—you own your email list. From the start, I focused on capturing emails by offering freebies like checklists, e-books, and guides in exchange for people signing up. This has been a game-changer because I can nurture my audience directly in their inbox, building trust and guiding them toward my paid offers.
3. Creating Valuable Content on YouTube
YouTube has been a major client magnet for me. I create videos that provide real value, whether it’s teaching people how to monetize their social media, create digital products, or start making passive income. The best part? YouTube works for you 24/7—videos I posted months ago are still bringing in new leads and subscribers today. The key is creating content that solves problems so people see you as the go-to expert in your space.
Final Thoughts
The combination of networking, email marketing, and video content has been my most effective strategy for growing my clientele. It’s all about showing up, providing value, and staying consistent. If you’re just starting out, my advice is simple:
✅ Put yourself in spaces where your ideal clients are (both online and offline).
✅ Create content that solves problems and builds trust.
✅ Own your audience by growing an email list.
If you focus on these three things, your clientele will naturally grow, and your brand will continue to thrive!
