We recently connected with Leshun Boyd-Gordon and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Leshun, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.
Every since i can remember, I’ve always wanted to be a successful musician. In 2010 i decided to put everything i had into music. All my efforts, all my pain, money & emotions behind my music career.
My name as an artist was “Spade Kosta.” During my journey i had many high moments. I was building an organic audience and every year i felt i was closer than ever to becoming a mega superstar.
I wanted to the world to hear my story so badly, but my marketing budget was running low. I invested Nearly $300,000.
The people & environment i associated with to make money was no longer in my future. I had outgrown that way of life but i needed the money to fund my music career.
Sadly, i was shot 4 times with 6 holes in my body. In the hospital i was necessitated twice, nearly one week later i was shooting a video for my song “Trouble sleeping.” When you watch the video you can see real blood leaking, and staining my clothes. Safe to say “ nothing was stopping me from chasing my dreams.”
The lack of consistent funding was actually stopping me! As much as i needed to become a famous musician to leave the streets alone, that lifestyle caught up with me.
Two years later, I had to make a decision. . . I had to take a risk “ whether to keep chasing my music career or pause it because the lifestyle to fund it could leave dead or in jail.
Ultimately, i decided to part ways with the love of my life “ music.”
See im use to taking risk but this was the biggest risk i had to take “too save my life.”
All in or nothing, I decided to learn real estate.
After reading 23 plus books a year, putting in the work, building a foundation, i became a successful real estate investor!
4 years later, I’m worth $3.6 million.
Haha, without risk there’s no reward. . . Perfect love story right ?
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is “OprahSon” Leshun Boyd-Gordon & own 20 properties worth 7 Figures.
I was homeless at 14 Y/o in a city I knew nothing about. I come from thuggin, GangBanging & living off sins. After being shot 4xs i had time to read 20+ books. Those books improved my outlook on life. Therefore, i decided to change the narrative of my life.
After starting countless of businesses, i found real estate!
🗣IF i can do it, you can too!
I’ve helped over 40 people become 6 figure earners, helped create 300+ real estate investors and homeowners. I’ve helped over 50 people fire their boss since the pandemic.
I’ve sold over 800 copies of my book “Hustling Houses” where i teach average people how to flip houses from start to finish.
This recession is going to require you to be more intentional, build & live off more than one stream of income.
