We recently connected with Les Panchyshyn and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Les, thanks for joining us today. Earning a full time living from one’s creative career can be incredibly difficult. Have you been able to do so and if so, can you share some of the key parts of your journey and any important advice or lessons that might help creatives who haven’t been able to yet?
My day begins with morning rituals. Coffee, a trip to the workshop, reviewing your sketches. then I start working on large canvases, the main thing is to set small and large goals, then it is easier to move forward and develop. The art business is very competitive and difficult, I am glad that I managed to break through this big wall and fully engage in creativity and make money with it. To do this, I went a long and long way. it is studying art in different countries, it is exhibitions all over the world (UAE, China, USA, Europe.), participation in art fairs.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
when I was still studying in elementary school, I knew then that I wanted to become an artist. In Ukraine, I studied at an art school, then at an art college, and I became a master of arts after graduating from the Academy of Arts. I also studied at the art students league in NY. That is, I used most of my life to become a professional in my field. I paint in different subjects, which reveals me as an artist from different angles. I also create sculptures and make videos.
I will probably highlight the animalistic theme in my work, as in recent years it has been presented at the Affordable art fair (New York), Spectrum Miami, L.A art fair and the Hampton art fair.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
since I am a father, it is more important for me to be a creator, I like the realization that every person is a god. accordingly, the creator. each person creates something special and unique. I want to create more warmth and goodness. and I use drawing pictures for this.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
I often thought about my mission in life. I would first of all like to leave my big mark in the history of art. I want to create something eternal as my figurative subject, in my opinion, there is something special and deep in it. I am sure that a big breakthrough will happen soon and I am making every effort to be ready for it.
