Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to L’erin Gaines. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
L’erin, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. If you could go back in time do you wish you had started your creative career sooner or later?
If I could go back and turn the hands of time, I wouldn’t change a thing when it comes to my career path. The younger version of L’erin was so naive and real quick to jump and do anything to get along with the crowd. I wasn’t living my own story and didn’t have my own way of life. It was basically a severe identity crisis for the majority of my life. The multiple setbacks over the years both romantically and financially has made me more of the creative soul that is in front of the world today. I was always very creative growing up as a child. I remember playing with my mother’s old vinyl records and always remembered day-dreaming of performing on stage. If I wasn’t running around the house in front of the mirror, then it was turning the staircase into my stage. From there I started to record music in the basement around the age of 8 years old. Then a few years later, around the age of 11 years old; I started creating and selling my own music around my neighborhood. I always knew that I wanted to do something with music, I just didn’t know that it was going to be something like a podcast or writing books. I’ve learned a lot of life lessons along the way and I’m Thankful to still be here sharing my story. My creative power today is all about gratitude and giving back to like-minded individuals who are also going through their own spiritual breakthrough. Now it makes sense why my earlier career path was very sacrificial. Who knows where I would be today without all of the warning signs, drama and deception. I’m not sure that I would still be around today if everything was just handed down to me like I originally envisioned it. I understand that timing is everything and my path is my path. I probably wouldn’t have stayed and played in some situations as long as I did, but I most certainly wouldn’t change the interactions because all of them have turned me into the creative soul that I am today.
L’erin, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My life went through a major paradigm shift in 2020 during my COVID-19 quarantine phase. My epiphany was the realization that I was severely lacking in the self love and care departments of my life. Internally I was screaming for a change with life after weeks of eating junk food, watching Netflix and the burden of carrying a failing marriage. Through continued prayer and isolation my first book was created “My Inspirations Volume 1 : Deliberation”. Deliberation is a journey through musical chapters of inspirational quotes, scriptures and themes centered around some of the greatest public figures. My life completely shifted during the creation process of Deliberation. It was like a revival moment that helped me remember the younger entrepreneurial child that was left and abandoned years ago. Through much prayer and Deliberation, I vowed to rescue my younger self and put that person first once again. Since this process I have been able to give back to my community truthfully through creative speaking and writing. Today I seek to connect with like-minded individuals through my 411 Podcast and Reading Between The Wines Show. My Podcasts consist of real life situations that many individuals can resonate with. Listeners embark on a musical journey with me while getting a truthful message about love, life, finance, depression, spirituality and various other topics. I am most proud of the growth that I have personally gone through LIVE on air with my supporters. LG Community members who have been with me from the beginning have grown with me in such a very special way.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
I had to unlearn all of the negative thoughts, sayings and patterns that I carried with me throughout my life. All of the distractions that would once make me give up became an energy fuel source for me. The world was already going crazy from COVID-19 and I knew that I didn’t want to become another statistic. I had to learn to take responsibility for myself and work on the type of energy that I was putting out in the universe. Once I started to focus on the right things, then the wrong things were removed from my life. All too often we focus on the wrong things which prevents the right things from coming into our world. My spiritual foundation backed with positive thinking changed my life in prolific ways.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
I thoroughly enjoy giving back to my community during my live broadcasts. I take the time to review all questions and comments that are sent my way via email, text or direct message. I make it a priority to seek and find solutions for my supporters. I have a segment called “Burning Questions” which is a great way to get tough personal questions answered anonymously LIVE on air. Burning Questions are around real life situations that most of us face on a regular basis but are afraid to speak on them. Passing down my experience to the next generation is an important factor for me. The positive community response to this segment of the show is very rewarding.
