Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Leonard Robinson. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Leonard , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to hear about the things you feel your parents did right and how those things have impacted your career and life.
My parents were the strongest tag team that I have ever witnessed. My father being the stern and militant focused head of household and my mother being the nurturing yet disciplined and grounded spokesman’s. Together they both groomed a large family of which all of my siblings understood God, family, hard work, discipline and respect for others. They taught to say “Yes Ma’am and Yes Sir to everyone. Growing up was difficult for me because I had some many other siblings to look up to and to be measured by. Not in a bad sense but only to push all of us to be better each day. I grew up wit some many role models and cheerleaders to make the the individual I am today. God has been apart of my growth and development as I came a husband and father to my own children. I raised them the same way. God, family, hard work, discipline and respect for others.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I am the youngest of ten in my family and have always been competitive with everything and everyone. Growing up with a father that opened his own company with limited education due him dropping out to help support his family I have learned to become a business savvy and intelligent entrepreneur. All of my siblings have all been successful in their careers both in corporate America and as business owners. I have ran several Fortune 500 companies in my career and I understand what’s needed to be successful. I have used all of this experience to build my brand and business to be the “Best in Class”. As a Life / Business Coach I have learned that we all go through challenges and achievements but the difference is how you accept them. Meaning, are they milestones or they achievements? Milestones are big expectations, achievements are what you expected in your journey to your milestones. I feel that my work has impacted so many people that I have coached to the fact that we have more then a client to counselor relationship but rather a “what’s next” relationship. It’s a remarkable feeling to know that I’m making an impact on someone’ s life and business.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
My character was a major player for building my business. the relationships and the interaction with others in the same business and also the synergy from my peers. Both personal and business relationship have supported my vision for my businesses. Not only from my professional career but my book, online ecommerce and now my tv show. All these factors have created opportunity and help build my reputation.
How do you keep your team’s morale high?
The best advice that I can give in managing team and maintaining high morale are as follows:
Seek first to understand, then be understood
Lead by example
Stay the course
Our Team Leaders, listen
Iron sharpens iron
Steward the brand
Explain the business
Create excitement
Share company goals and expectations
