We were lucky to catch up with Leo Cavada recently and have shared our conversation below.
Leo, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.
Let’s start from the beginning, I firmly believe that taking risks is vital for a human being, without risks, you live an existence stuck inside a comfort zone that will never give you the chance to express yourself to the fullest and that will never give you the chance to feel alive!
Back in 2007, after realizing that school education wasn’t enough for me, I decided to take the biggest risk of my life, drop out of school.
Right? Wrong?I couldn’t know it, I just knew that I wasn’t expressing my full potential and that no one was teaching me how to discover it, what it was, and how to reach it.
I took out my balls and told my parents that I would study, double the amount of time I studied in school, but to become what I wanted to become, a recognized and established recording artist, music producer and an entrepreneur, and not a faded version of me with a 9-5 job without dreams and goals,(and yes, my parents was soooooo pissed off).
I was perfectly aware that it would have been a huge risk, but it was my life and if I hadn’t at least tried, I know I would have regretted it for the rest of my life, now I can say that if I hadn’t made it, at least today I would be proud of myself for having had the courage to risk it, doing everything to change my life as I always wanted it to be.
Now i’m here with you, i’m a recording artist, a music producer and an entrepreneur, I took my risks and i reaped the rewards and I hope that each of you will find the strenght just like I did, to dare, to fight, to dig deeper and risk everything to change your life!
Leo, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Leo Cavada and I’m a Recording Artist and Multi-Platinum producer, I collaborating with artists everyday and i’m also cooperate with labels like Sony Music, Universal Music Group, Virgin music and many more.
In my past, I had the honor to work as a producer and singer as well, with big names of the international and national music business like Shaggy, Flo-rida, Snoop Dogg, Rj Justice, Gabry Ponte, Jean Marie and many more.
In the previous years, I have been awarded various awards in the music world and in particular I won a “Sanremo Music Award” as best r&b artist during the week of the Sanremo Music Festival, the most important musical television event on the Italian music scene.
I don’t like to think of myself as a problem solver, I prefer to be a dream creator.
I work every day with famous and non-famous artists, and what I do is realize every facet of their art, make it tangible, true, real, I make their inspiration, their lifeblood, their idea, turn into music, basically, I make real their ability to communicate what they believe in to the general public, and that’s what I do for myself, for my music, for my project and for my message.
They always ask me if I have fun…
Well, every day in the studio, I feel like a child on Christmas morning in a toy store, and I also get paid a lot to have fun like a child (big laughs).
So no, I don’t solve problems, I just make sure there aren’t any.
I create magic, laughter, goosebumps, unions, collaborations, experiences, that’s what I do
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
I have always believed and I still strongly believe that directing my life to achieve the best version of myself was the best decision of my life and today it is the backbone that guides my whole world, my music, my lyrics, my family, my daughters everything!
In everything I do and create, there is only one message, BE THE BEST VERSION OF YOURSELF AT 360 DEGREES, mentally, physically and spiritually, because a life spent hiding in the comfort zone is not life but static survival, and never leads to anything but unhappiness and a sense of inner emptiness.
It’s not just about my creative journey, it’s about life, my life!
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
Being a creative has an infinite number of rewarding aspects, believe me, I could stay here all day listing them all, but if I have to choose the most important, the most representative, the most infinitely impactful and satisfying, I will answer you immediately with one word!
HAPPINESS.
There is nothing more satisfying than the face of a happy artist, ecstatic and grateful for the result of the work in the studio. That is the reason why everything exists, the tangible proof of having created something magical and unique shared with another creative.
