We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Leia Murphy a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Leia, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.

I started Leia Rachelle Creative, LLC back in April of 2019. I was struggling with my health for years before starting it, and was unable to work due to this fact. It was only when I moved to AZ that I finally got diagnosed- and with those diagnosis’s, I was able to make lifestyle changes that made my life better. Unfortunately, one of those diagnosis’s was bifocal frontal lobe epilepsy. Due to this fact, I may never be able to drive again-and is difficult for me to hold down a normal 9-5 job. That was when Leia Rachelle Creative, LLC was born. I knew I had a lot to give to the world, and this business has made that possible. I am able to make my own hours, all the while bringing your ideas and concepts to life.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

I have been an artist for as long as I can remember- I started drawing the moment I learned how to hold a pencil. I knew I wanted to work in the creative field, but I didn’t want to be your typical “starving artist”. That is when I went to college for graphic design and marketing. I knew I would be able to take my artistic skills and knowledge, and apply them in a more targeted fashion. When starting Leia Rachelle Creative, LLC- I wanted to be more than a graphic design business. That is why I made it a “One stop creative shop”. We can handle anything from web design, logo and business card designs, to commissioned artwork and handmade products. If you have a project that falls under the category of creative, chances are we can cover it for you! Our mission is to bring ideas and aspirations to life through the eyes of the inspired-and we do so, one project at a time.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?

Your reputation is made up of a lot of moving parts in my opinion. It begins with my honesty and transparency with my clients, and ends with the work that I produce. If someone comes to me with a project that I feel is out of my league or beyond my ability-I let them know from the jump, and recommend an artist that would be a better fit for them. Because of this, I haven’t yet had a disappointed client; and the 5 star rating I have on google and on facebook attests to that.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?

I would have to say either social media (facebook, instagram, and linked-in), or word of mouth! Once you get your first 100 clients, it’s smooth sailing from there. There is no better source of free marketing than word of mouth!!
