We recently connected with Legion D. Wise and have shared our conversation below.
Legion, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
I wanted to create a situation to facilitate my work and work with artists that I felt had a high level of skill and talent but were in my opinion underappreciated. I wanted to do this in a grass roots way that wouldn’t require the artist to pay any money while still having the opportunity the create what they wanted freely.

Legion, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m primarily a music artist/producer, and I also do music engineering (recording, mixing, mastering), graphic design and photography. I started studying how to make music and worked to buy equipment for my first studio when I was 15. I started my first business around the age of nineteen and started recording artists and doing beat production. Currently I have a media company named NightTide Multimedia LLC (Formally Against The Grain Entertainment(Austin,Tx) and we provide the aforementioned services. I think what sets us apart from others is that our work has a unique style crafted specifically for each artist or client. I’m most proud of the progress we’ve made having started from the ground up and the opportunities we’ve provided for artists to express themselves and be heard. We work hard to make sure whatever we do, be it photography or music fits the artist or client in both tone and style. We are personally invested in the success of each person we work with.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Persistence is key. Don’t get discouraged because things progress slowly at first. Be consistent and take time to build a rapport with people who show support. Connect your social media to everything you do. It does take time and most of all effort but the most important thing is to never give up because things aren’t progressing as fast as you want. If you take the time and push through. Connect people you meet at shows or events with your social media and then follow up and support them once they’ve followed you.

Any advice for managing a team?
I would say create a broad structure for your goals that allows your team to play to their strengths while leaving room for everyone to have input. Sometimes people can see things you can’t or think of ideas you wouldn’t so its important to create a safe space for those ideas to be expressed.
