We recently connected with Leesa Robinson and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Leesa thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
My mother was a model in the 1960s and I learned from my mother at an early age my mother class and sophistication in modeling. I knew I would be in the entertainment industry in one way or the other. I started modeling when young but did not receive a contract til I was 40 years old. I opened my agency for models in talent in 1998 and have grown to date with 45 locations.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am also a co partner in Enchantment Film Studios located in Fort Lauderdale Florida and Albuquerque, NM. I have also developed a great working relationship with a Los Angeles Agency and together building a great talent team and also be able to offer talent more than a regular agency.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
I started the Agency so that I could help people be considered for roles that other agencies may would turn away, I started asking professional photographers to help with headshot for little to no pay. My goal was to help underprivileged children fulfill dreams and it worked.
Have you ever had to pivot?
As an agent I networked with producers, directors, other agents and investors. People started asking me about helping to sell their scripts. I was producing my own documentaries at the time so I immediately pivoted in to an executive producer role started A film production company and we were on our way!
