We were lucky to catch up with Leeor Rozner recently and have shared our conversation below.
Leeor, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Learning the craft is often a unique journey from every creative – we’d love to hear about your journey and if knowing what you know now, you would have done anything differently to speed up the learning process.
That’s a great question. I practiced a lot, watched other DJs I liked for hours, and learned from them. Then, I went home and practiced even more. In my opinion, the few skills that you need to have to become a top DJ are a love for music, a deep knowledge of your music, the ability to share it with your crowd, the ability to read a crowd, a love for people, and the ability to turn it into a lifestyle. I always say that DJing is not just a job but a lifestyle that you live 24/7. In my experience, the most essential skills are reading a crowd, reading the room, and selecting the right songs. Nothing stood in my way of learning more because I was and still am completely dedicated to it.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
As a professional DJ, I have been blessed to be born and raised in Israel and currently live in the beautiful city of Miami. My DJ career has two aspects. When I am performing in clubs, I mostly play house and progressive house music. However, when I perform at weddings, corporate events, and private events, my style is open-format, which means I play any style of music. Apart from DJing, I also produce house music. I won L R Entertainment, a well-known DJ/live musicians/entertainment company specializing in weddings, corporate, and private events. My DJing style is what sets me apart from others when it comes to performing at weddings and private events. I bring a top-level of DJing expertise, professionalism, preparation, and most importantly, a love for people, and a love of making them dance.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
As a music producer, the most satisfying moment is when people appreciate my music. As a DJ, it’s rewarding when people approach me after a few hours of playing music to express their gratitude for an incredible night of dancing and entertainment. At weddings, when the newlyweds approach me to thank me for making their special day unforgettable, it’s a fantastic feeling. These moments mean everything to me.
How did you build your audience on social media?
I didn’t create it; everything happens naturally. Being true to yourself as an artist and DJ means sharing your work, music, videos, advice, and values. This attracts followers.
