We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Leena Alsulaiman a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Leena, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
As a visibility coach, creative consultant, stylist, and founder, my mission is deeply personal. Like many women, I have struggled with self-doubt, limiting beliefs, and a lack of clarity about my true purpose in life throughout my journey. Through my own process of self-discovery and growth, I have learned invaluable lessons that I now share with my clients.
I firmly believe that every woman has a unique story, message, and set of talents that deserve to be shared with the world. However, I understand that the journey to cultivating a strong personal brand and showing up confidently online (and off) can be particularly challenging for women, who often face additional barriers such as gender bias, imposter syndrome, and societal expectations. Studies have shown that women are more likely to underestimate their abilities and hesitate to promote themselves, even when they are highly qualified.
Driven by a deep commitment to supporting women, I have made it my mission to provide the guidance, tools, and support necessary for the women I work with to overcome these barriers and build thriving personal brands. My multifaceted approach allows me to provide comprehensive support that addresses both the internal and external aspects of personal branding. My goal is to help them enhance their digital presence and foster a sense of self-awareness, self-acceptance, and self-assurance that extends far beyond the digital realm.
Through my tailored mentoring/coaching programs, workshops, and resources designed specifically for women, I aim to create a safe, supportive space where they can explore their unique identities, clarify their messages, and develop the skills and strategies needed to effectively communicate their value to their target audiences.
Ultimately, my mission is to nurture a community of purpose-driven female entrepreneurs and professionals who are ready to share their stories and make a positive impact in the world. By helping women build strong personal brands, I believe we can create a ripple effect of positive change in their industries and communities.
It’s an honor to create these spaces and platforms. My dream is to contribute to a future where women feel confident in embracing their unique strengths, sharing their stories, and leaving their mark on the world with purpose and strength. I love to guide women back home to themselves, helping them reconnect with their power, so they can lead lives and businesses that are truly authentic and fulfilling.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
As a multifaceted creative entrepreneur, visibility coach, and consultant, my journey has been shaped by my lifelong passion for design, creativity, and empowering women. Growing up in Saudi Arabia, I was encouraged from a young age to explore my creative interests, which laid the foundation for my diverse career path.
Throughout my professional life, I have consistently found ways to incorporate creativity into my roles, whether as a creative entrepreneur or in my “day jobs.” However, my true calling has always been to support and empower women in starting their own ventures, growing their brands, and navigating career transitions.
This led me to establish my consultancy, where I have created a platform to serve women by helping them harness their unique powers and build authentic, impactful brands. My work is deeply rooted in my own experiences of self-discovery, personal growth, and overcoming challenges such as self-doubt, limiting beliefs, and lack of clarity about my purpose.
I firmly believe that every woman has a story worth telling, a message to share, and talents to contribute to the world. However, I also recognize women’s unique challenges when building a strong personal brand and showing up confidently in both online and offline spaces.
My mission is to provide women with the guidance, tools, and support they need to overcome these obstacles and build thriving personal brands. I take a holistic approach that addresses both the internal and external aspects of personal branding, helping women enhance their digital presence and cultivate a deep sense of self-awareness, self-acceptance, and self-assurance.
Through my tailored coaching programs, workshops, and resources, I create a safe and supportive environment where women can explore their unique identities, clarify their messages, and develop the skills to effectively communicate their value to their target audiences. My services, which include personal styling, branding, creative direction, and social media strategy, are showcased on my website (www.leenaalsulaiman.com).
Ultimately, my goal is to foster a community of purpose-driven female entrepreneurs and professionals who are ready to share their stories and create positive change in their industries and communities. By helping women build strong personal brands, I believe we can generate a ripple effect of transformation and empowerment.
What sets me apart is my unwavering commitment to guiding women back to their authentic selves, helping them reconnect with their inner power, and leading fulfilling lives and businesses. I take great pride in my work’s transformative impact on my clients’ lives, as demonstrated by the case studies on my website.
I have built a brand that reflects my core values of authenticity, empowerment, and purpose. I pour my heart and soul into every project, dedicating myself to supporting women in their personal and professional journeys. My vision is to contribute to a future where women feel confident embracing their unique strengths, sharing their stories, and making their mark on the world with purpose and tenacity.
I am committed to being a catalyst for change, empowering women to break through barriers, and creating a global community where every woman has the opportunity to thrive and make a lasting impact.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
Absolutely, I can share a pivotal moment in my career that led me to where I am today. Years ago, I co-founded a successful wedding planning boutique, which I ran for over a decade. From the outside looking in, it seemed like I had it all figured out. I was good at what I did, and people assumed I loved it. And the truth is, I did… until I didn’t.
There came a point when I realized that my passion for the business had faded. It was no longer fulfilling me in the way it once had. This realization was both frightening and liberating. I found myself at a crossroads, questioning whether I should continue down the same path or take a leap of faith and explore new possibilities.
After much introspection, I made the difficult decision to walk away from the company I had built. It wasn’t an easy choice, but I knew in my heart that it was the right one. I gave myself permission to honor the space I was in, acknowledging that my desires and aspirations had evolved over time.
Looking back, I am incredibly grateful for that journey, as it ultimately led me to where I am today. It taught me the importance of being true to myself, even when it means making bold, sometimes scary decisions. It also taught me that it’s okay to fall out of love with careers, routines, and even dreams. It’s not a betrayal of oneself or others; it’s a natural part of personal evolution and growth.
Pivoting from that business allowed me to rediscover my true passions and purpose. It set me on a path to becoming a visibility coach, creative consultant, stylist, and founder, where I now have the privilege of empowering women to build authentic personal brands and live fulfilling lives.
This experience taught me that sometimes the greatest love story is the one you write for yourself, chapter by brave chapter. It’s about having the courage to listen to your inner voice, embrace change, and trust the journey, even when it takes you in unexpected directions.
Today, I draw upon this pivotal moment in my life to inspire and support other women who may be facing similar crossroads. I encourage them to give themselves permission to evolve, to let go of what no longer serves them, and to pursue their true calling, even if it means veering off the expected path.
In the end, my decision to pivot my career was not just a professional choice; it was a profound act of self-love and self-discovery. It taught me that when we have the courage to honor our authentic selves and embrace change, we open ourselves up to a world of incredible possibilities and fulfillment.
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
When it comes to attracting new clients, I’ve found that word of mouth has been the most powerful and reliable source. There’s something truly special about the way satisfied clients and collaborators share their experiences with others and how that genuine enthusiasm can spark curiosity and trust in potential clients.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with remarkable women who have achieved transformative results in their personal and professional lives and become passionate advocates for the work we do together. Their stories of growth, empowerment, and success have a way of resonating with others who are seeking similar transformations.
When a client shares her journey—the challenges she’s overcome, the breakthroughs she’s experienced, and the newfound confidence she’s gained—it carries a weight that no marketing campaign can match. It’s a testament to the power of authenticity, connection, and the shared desire to see one another thrive.
I’ve witnessed firsthand how a heartfelt recommendation from a trusted friend, colleague, or family member can inspire someone to take that leap of faith and embark on their own journey of self-discovery and growth. It’s beautiful to see how the ripple effect of one person’s transformation can lead to countless others.
What I love most about word of mouth is that it fosters a sense of community and connection. It’s not just about gaining new clients; it’s about building a network of supportive women who uplift and inspire one another. When someone reaches out to me because they’ve heard about the impact of my work from someone they trust, it creates a foundation of openness, vulnerability, and readiness to embrace change.
In many ways, word of mouth is a reflection of the very essence of my work—empowering women to find their voice, share their stories, and create a positive impact in the world. It’s a reminder that when we show up authentically and dedicate ourselves to making a difference in the lives of others, our impact extends far beyond the individual.
So, while I am grateful for the various ways in which clients find their way to me, I am always especially touched and inspired by those who come through the heartfelt recommendations of others. It’s a testament to the power of connection, the strength of our community, and the transformative potential of the work we do together.
