We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Leen Atalov a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Leen, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. So, let’s start with trends – what are some of the largest or more impactful trends you are seeing in the industry?
Bridal industry has been around for a long time, but very little have we know about it. Bridal gowns have changed in so many ways throughout history. With social media and digital age, we’re currently seeing trends in weddings and wedding gowns that are very unique in design and also practical. some of those trends are sustainable and eco-friendly options, minimalist designs, non-traditional colors and prints, separates and jumpsuits, sleeves and statement details, vintage-inspired gowns, and mix-and-match styles are some of the biggest trends in the bridal gown market.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
It all started with my mother’s passion to different fabrics and designs. My grandmother used to be a seamstress and her love for sewing and design has travelled down to my mother and I to later inspire the idea of starting a bridal boutique.
We consider ourselves to be in the hospitality industry more than retail. Our brides come seeing someone who can listen to their needs, hear their story and find their ultimate wedding gown that’ll make them forget about all their insecurities. our job is to make that journey as joyful and happy as it can be. we listen to the bride’s needs, pay close attention to what she doesn’t like about her body and offering the right product that fit just that!
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
building a strong reputation in the bridal industry requires offering high quality if products and services: many of our brides return and choose to purchase their wedding dress from us is because our gown quality and uniqueness and also because of the exceptional customer service that they receive at our shop. Our personalised attention to each client’s need has defiantly set us apart from our competitors. Generating positive word of mouth and reviews, developing a unique selling proposition, and having strong marketing and advertising strategy all help in building a good reputation.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
I would say that having positive reviews and always remembering the company’s values are essential factors for success. Our goal is to assist all brides in making their dream wedding dress come true. We achieve this by going above and beyond to bring their vision to life, including offering assistance with spare lace or fabric to create a mockup of their dream dress. This method builds trust and a strong connection with our brides, who are more likely to refer their friends or write positive reviews, thus contributing to our reputation.
