We were lucky to catch up with Lee Greer recently and have shared our conversation below.
Lee, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s jump right into the heart of things. Outsiders often think businesses or industries have much larger profit margins than they actually do – the reason is that outsiders are often unaware of the biggest challenges to profitability in various industries – what’s the biggest challenge to profitability in your industry?
The biggest challenge to profitability in the health & wellness industry is social media which also happens to be a major driving force to help businesses expand their reach. Social media makes information readily available for anyone to access, Trends are heavily advertised on social media which can pose a challenge for science based practices.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers?
My name is Lee Greer, I am a health and wellness specialist who has worked with thousands of women both in person & virtually. I help people realize their power & regain their confidence through my all inclusive strength & conditioning program. I have focused my efforts on combating health disparities in minority communities, where my line of work is often scarce or non-existent. I am most proud of the impact my workout group is making, we continue to defy the odds & that is all the fuel I need. Body by Lee is a place where everyone can come & feel welcome we are truly a fitness family.

Have you ever had to pivot?
When the pandemic hit a lot of people in the fitness industry were caught off guard. If I recall correctly the gyms were shut down on a Tuesday… I had virtual training on Wednesday evening. My ability to trust God to protect what I had already built and quickly pivot is what not only saved my brand but took it to a level I couldn’t have even imagined. Hundreds of women enrolled every month to train virtually with me. The impact was huge. As business owners it imperative that we stay ready at all times.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I have built my social media presence solely by posting results of my clientele. In my industry it is common for trainers to post impressive engaging content of themselves. I set myself apart by showing the world what I can do for OTHER people. To anyone just starting, authenticity is where your power lies. People connect with content that is REAL, it’s what makes you human. Show people who you are & what your brand stands for. Your tribe will find you.
