We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Ledora Lee a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Ledora, appreciate you joining us today. How has Covid changed your business model?
2020 was a very difficult time, to say the least. COVID-19 came in and literally took over! So many businesses were forced to close their stores or find new ways to get sales and customers. It was truly unexpected and overwhelming; However, I was determined to not give up social media was a great source for me to get word out, post sales and information about new products that are emerging. I basically still to this day have to stretch my creative vision to keep busy due to it being very hard to stay focused during these time because of the uncertainty of everything going on around the world.

Ledora, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Honestly, after 9 years as a CPhT, my newfound love for Hair and Skincare was sudden. With many failed attempts with your everyday products on the shelves I ultimately had an awakening. I came from an era where relaxed hair was the thing. It was easy and quick, and we were taught that was the way your hair should be worn. But after I began to do research and decided it was time, I learned to embrace the crown that I was born with, that’s what opened my eyes to create my own product line that actually caters to the hair and skin without all the harsh chemicals. That’s when the “magic” happened. I ensure that each of my products contains natural ingredients for the promotion of growing and maintaining healthy hair, as well as skin care that is nondrying and moisturizing without a greasy pore clogging feel. I take pride in creating content and videos on social media and for our newsletters for people to see my products and learn tips on how retain length and grow hair, as well as how to practice a skin care regimen and do’s and don’ts of skin care.

Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
I keep in touch with my clients via email as well as we are in the process of adding a text message communication. I’m all about loyalty! My clients that are signed up for our newsletter frequently receive deals, tips, and know what’s new product wise before anyone else. All while we have affiliate program for them as well that has wonderful incentives.
How do you keep your team’s morale high?
The advice that I have for managing a team and maintaining a high morale would be being very straight forward, this can be the best thing for keeping business smooth. Not only should you be transparent and straight forward but communicate well. Maintaining morale is based on making sure you have great communication, always recognize employees and allow feedback.
