We were lucky to catch up with Leanne Glasser recently and have shared our conversation below.
Leanne, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Was there a moment in your career that meaningfully altered your trajectory? If so, we’d love to hear the backstory.
For as long as I can remember, I always felt called to help people but didn’t know how. In college, I majored in psychology but dropped out due to financial hardship. For years, I worked jobs in hospitality that paid the bills but never felt aligned. Managing other people’s businesses and helping them realize their dreams while I was on a constant search for my own life purpose.
Then, after years of strange symptoms, I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease and many other health issues. I was told there was nothing I could do to heal but would continue to get sicker and would have to manage with a plethora of medications for the rest of my life.
A defining moment in my life was when I listened to something inside of me that was telling me that this was not my truth. Even though I was being told it was impossible to heal, this innate knowing inside of me was stating the opposite. Although I didn’t know it at the time, this one moment would kickstart a beautiful healing journey and a massive awakening to my life purpose.
Along my journey, I have realized that to experience deep healing and lasting health, you must address things holistically. It is more than a healthy diet and exercise. It’s about nourishing and balancing not only your physical body, but your mental, emotional and energetic bodies as well.
Now that I have healed from my autoimmune disease and other health issues, I have been able to harness these struggles to make a positive impact on others who are on a healing journey. I have learned to transform all my past experiences that I once saw as traumatic into a source of inspiration and support for those who face similar challenges.
Leanne, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m an Intuitive Guide with training in holistic health, life coaching, breathwork coaching and facilitation, energy work, and more.
After healing myself from an autoimmune disease and many other health issues, I realized we all have the innate wisdom inside of us to help us heal. My mission as an Intuitive Guide is to help others tap into that innate wisdom and the self-healer inside so they can live their most healthy, peaceful and beautiful lives.
I utilize tools that merge science and spirituality and have helped me transform my own health like breathwork, energy work, and sustainable lifestyle changes.
I work with clients one-on-one online or in-person and also host group events online and throughout the Charleston community.
I am a lifelong student and am always learning alternative ways to help others heal.
Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?
Experience. Through my own lived experience, I have been able to accumulate a depth of knowledge that cannot be learned in schools, trainings, or courses.
If I told you more about myself, you might think I have had a traumatic or hard life. Losing a parent at a young age, having my own near death experience, struggling with drugs and alcohol, and dealing with many mental and physical health issues, to name a few. Yet, I like to see my hardships as the catalyst for my journey to deep healing, true growth, and transformation.
Everything I have experienced along my path has allowed me to empower and support others along their own journeys of healing and growth. It has helped me develop my intuition and hone my ability to understand and address the unique needs and concerns of each individual I work with. It has allowed me to continue to evolve and adapt to provide the highest level of care to those seeking guidance.
If you could go back in time, do you think you would have chosen a different profession or specialty?
I would almost say that if I could go back, I would have chosen to become a wellness practitioner at a much younger age. Maybe right out of high school and skipped college all together. Skipped the many jobs I would have running other people’s businesses.
However, I do believe that it all happened in divine timing. I had a lot more to experience and had a lot of healing to do. You can’t help others before you help yourself.
