We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Leah Patton a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Leah thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Any thoughts about whether to ask friends and family to support your business. What’s okay in your view?
It can be uncomfortable to ask friends and family to support your business, but it is necessary. When you have a business to run, you need to be able to sustain it regardless of who it is.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I have been a photographer for 3 years now, I just graduated back in December 2021 with a B.S in Photography. Now, I currently freelance and work on product photography. I love taking portraits and focusing on faces. I am into portrait photography because every one is different. We all are different sizes and colors and I love to focus on that. I also love to think outside the box with my portraits using difficult props like mirrors in my photoshoots. I adore reflections in my images because, my clients can get different perspectives of themselves. My main goal is to always make my clients feel confident, and reassure them that there is only one you, and that they should always express themselves. This is something I will always stand by!
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
Yes, I would for one of my photos to be on the cover of Vogue someday!

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
