We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Leah Hall a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Leah , appreciate you joining us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
I was a corporate employee checking off the “to-do” list to be most successful. Until life hit me… After 10+ years I left my employer in an ambulance. Three days later, I returned home and began caring for my infant child + young toddler.
This was my first time not having a job…after being employed since the age of 15. Now, I was sick, overwhelmed, and living with PTSD.
Two years later, I finally found my footing – I went from an overworked, underappreciated go-to employee to doing what I loved the most – taking the most aspirational idea and making it a reality.
I couldn’t be the only woman dealing with this…so I created my business to serve women and to help them build a life and legacy with less stress.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am most proud of my family, being present for them, and being well enough to show up for myself.
When I finally found my purpose, helping women show up in their brand with a consistent strategy, I knew I could make a difference in the world.
Being a Brand Strategist with a keen outlook for structuring business models is directly related to my really expensive Master of Education and Bachelor of Arts in Humanities degrees.
…yes, I analyze, synthesize, + interpret contemporary issues from a variety of humanistic POVs.
My educational pursuits helped me to explore methods that inspire CEOs and their teams to meet challenges + goals with creative solutions.
Leadership, Community, + Curriculum Development have shaped the framework that I use to implement innovative opportunities in curating business models that help to increase revenue + reduce overwhelm for service-based leaders.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Being intentional about the clients that I work with and the projects that I partner with has undoubtedly helped me to build my reputation in the marketplace.
I am strategic, intentional, progressive, and organized. Clients do not “hire” me, they partner with me to enhance their brand, services, and business model.
Many of my clients refer me to other clients – keeping a consistent process has helped to create a client-focused and repeatable process.
Each client is served with the highest level of care…when they share their experience they speak to the market and highlight the work and brilliance they have experienced.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
Knowing the weight of the world that I have carried on my shoulders for years – made me realize that I could help other women relieve some of that weight and pressure.
Women are often told what they cannot do in life. I consistently tell clients, my audience, and friends what they can do as women.
They can do absolutely anything.
I had to unlearn the judgments and expectations of others and I had to be keen not to introduce that type of thinking in my business.
Each client has a special opportunity to share with the world. My job is to remove all expectations of what the market tells us what we should do and we focus on what is most aligned.
