We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Leah Garcia. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Leah below.
Leah, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
My mission as a young, ambitious, latina CEO reflects that and is heavily rooted in the mission of MotivateYou. Our mission statement is that we seek to democratize leadership and motivation through Breakthrough coaching for everyone and anyone. But it extends beyond the folds of accessibility and affordability and really goes into helping everyone make a difference and leave an indelible mark. During the Pandemic Pandemonium I saw everyone around me succumb to depression, anxiety, fear and lack of social interaction and realized that the only reason I was mentally okay was because of the privilege I had of having a dad as a life coach. After looking in his office one day for more research on the industry and self help books to offer my friends and sister who was struggling with crippling depression, I stumbled upon a “golden” like journal where within lied the golden outline and rough draft for an app that was like Talkspace and Cameo had a baby. It felt then as if it was anointed by God that I pursued this dream and concept and brought it to fruition. The meaning behind MotivateYou became increasingly more prevalent and apparent when my sisters boyfriend was murdered this past year. His loss and her pain motivates me to keep on refining, iterating and driving MotivateYou to its highest potential, never stopping until MotivateYou helps aid the mental health of millions and help them create success and significance in their lives. After my sister shared her experience of what it was like finding an outlet and the difficulty of being a Latina and getting rid of this stigma against coaching and therapy I realized that MotivateYou was the solution to this problem. We want to provide accessible and affordable coaching for not just everyone but also target people of Minority communities so that they can have instant motivation at their fingertips and learn how to divorce their old story and marry their new one. Price could no longer be an excuse, access could no longer be the excuse as now would be the time of produced results with their very own personal coach.!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am a 19 year old ambitious, tenacious, disciplined visionary leader and Latina CEO of MotivateYou. My candor and character most clearly reflect my brand and business. I am currently a student athlete and Captain of the Women’s Soccer Team at Lincoln University, pursuing my MBA in Entrepreneurship and Data Information and Sciences. Ever since I was young I was taught the power of encantation, applying the mantra “I Can. I Will. Watch Me.” and saying three times. Reminding me that Can is my ability and Will is my mindset allowing me to have strength in pushing past any limitations in my life. It also allowed me to be a Visionary leader, powerfully praying on my goals and envisioning it come true. Instead of being taught the ABCS like a regular child, I would have to memorize the ABCD’s of leadership taught to me by my father. You could say my childhood was a bit peculiar or you could say that’s it’s what’s transformed me into the whole hearted, resilient leader I am today. In all aspects of my life I knew I had to use my leadership to make a difference and through what I call Passion Projects I was able to plant seeds of leadership and change that succeeded me and did not need me. I had always thought that my purpose was to be a soccer player and although like everything I was disciplined, hard working and obsessed with my sport after suffering from two partial tears in the ankle and being besieged by the Pandemic I had realized my purpose was greater than just a sport. That is when my senior year I created a non profit, ConsentUs, dedicated to educating the youth on Consent and had began to use my voice to highlight the local stories and politics of Hoboken, New Jersey. But my true calling was found in God anointing me to build and architect a platform and app that would revolutionize the Self Development and Coaching Industry. MotivateYou through customized coaching content, personal coaching calls with a seasoned and accredited life and Breakthrough Coach and access to celebrity AI Coaches 24/7 is dedicated to harnessing your potential and unleashing your best self. Bringing you from good to then adopting great to becoming your best self with motivation and D.O.S.E. videos at your fingertips. Our services transcends regular life coaching as our coaches not only create and guide you through a blueprint for success and significance in the areas you want to improve in your life on twice a month hourly calls, but they also provide you daily D.O.S.E.S of motivation. These D.O.S.E. videos are 30-60 second short form affirmation videos designed in applied neurolinguistics to ignite the dopamine oxytocin’s serotonins and endorphins within you anytime for any situation and anywhere! We not only sought to create an algorithm full of content dedicated and specific to you but we also did something our competitors couldn’t, we made it affordable. In a $41.8 billion dollar self development industry and $2 billion dollar U.S. coaching market why is it that there is still 900 million people suffering from mental health and 300 struggling with depression. The answer is because the coaching market has not been accessible nor affordable to everyone. MotivateYou is the solution to this epidemic of loneliness and mental health increase as stated by the U.S surgeon general. Our coaches are committed to supporting and aiding your mental health 24/7, helping you divorce your old story and marry your new one, helping you lead and leave a legacy of success and fulfillment! The biggest thing I am proud of is the success story of one of our clients who had struggled with anxiety and depression her whole life and within weeks of Coaching with Coach G was able to find joy in her personal life, level up in her career and self worth, and bring her own dreams to fruition. She was was able to reframe her mindset and apply an attitude of gratitude that transformed her life. I also proud to just have created a tool that I know can be used by anyone regardless of creed, sex, orientation, financial status and race. In every stride big or small MotivateYou creates I find pride and joy in knowing that we will helps millions harness their potential, deepen their faith, actualize their dreams, optimize their productivity and discover their purpose!

How’d you meet your business partner?
I know everyone speaks about how incredible it is to work alongside a work family, but I haven’t heard much about people saying how much they enjoy working with blood family! I’d be remiss if I didn’t joke about the banter but also love that comes with working with my dad. I met my business partner at the age of 10 when we first started in the business of empowering others and restoring their hearts. I vividly remember this year was a pivotal year for me as I was majorly influenced by my role model, my dad and would be as if his shadow following him to work where he took action in solving the problems of his people, to watching shark tank with him as a pastime. I developed an affinity for entrepreneurship, had an insatiable hunger for innovation and an unwavering urge to always stand up for others and create change. I took the statement daddy’s girl way too seriously and aimed to embody this transformational wholehearted leader uncannily. There was no one throughout my life that I gave more credence to for my perfectionist and overachiever mindset and also paid tribute to for all my accomplishments. My dad knew how to motivate me, he taught me the importance of wanting the pain of discipline than that of regret, and to always root myself in an attitude of gratitude. I knew my dad was meant to be my business partner not only because of the experience and accreditation he shared as an expert Life and Breakthrough Coach but also because of the way i’ve seen him impact the lives of his clients. His knowledge in the power of neurolinguistics, the effectiveness of the mantra “I Can. I Will. Watch Me., and the principles he’s developed from all the greats like Tony Robbins and created in his book assured me that he’s the person I could not only work alongside but learn from. The ultimate decision on wanting to have him be my co founder and business partner came after we shared the same passion, purpose and conviction in knowing the power of MotivateYou and it’s capabilities in enhancing the lives of millennials struggling with mental health. I knew that if my dad could coach me into believing that I will pioneer and continuously develop, resiliently iterate and love the journey and process of refinement of MotivateYou he could help anyone believe and act in converting their dreams into goals. My business partner and I met at birth but it was choice that led me to building this vision and future alongside him.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
A lesson I had to learn and unlearn was that success was only earned through sacrificing everything else in your life. In my entrepreneurial journey, I initially bought into the belief that success necessitated unwavering sacrifice – sacrificing personal relationships, health, and even moments of self-care. However, as I juggled soccer and being a full time CEO I began to realize the toll it was taking on me, both physically and mentally. I believed at the time that in order to accomplish what I needed to to build MotivateYou I couldn’t waste time on self care, proper nutrition and devotional time in my faith. It was a profound moment of clarity when I unlearned the myth that success had to come at the cost of everything else. I recognized that there was a greater lesson to be learned, not just in business but in life itself. It was through unlearning this notion that I could relearn the importance of balance and, more profoundly, the concept of divine timing. I discovered that success didn’t have to be rushed or forced; instead, it could be achieved with patience, harmony, and an understanding that certain things were simply meant to unfold in their own time, not on my rigid schedule. This revelation transformed my approach to entrepreneurship, allowing me to find success in a more balanced and spiritually fulfilling way.
