Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Leah Frank. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Leah , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you share an important lesson you learned in a prior job that’s helped you in your career afterwards?
In my prior careers I was managed by many toxic people and cutting myself out of that experience along with taking a risky road for my creative well-being greatly helped my happiness and mental stability

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I got into the tattoo industry when I decided to quit my commercial driving job. Since I got my first tattoo at age 18 it had been in my mind for the next year and I decided to follow that road and see where it would take me by starting my first apprenticeship program which I did not exactly favor because of the negative work environment at that particular shop. I was getting tattooed at another shop and eventually transferred there to begin a new apprenticeship by the artist who was doing amazing work on me and that’s when my wings really spread and I flew into the best career of my life! Being in a good work environment is the best impact on appreciating what you do and I felt at home very quickly and started my success at a very fast pace! I have fallen in love with the practice and being able to give people the gratification of a permanent art piece that they can take with to the grave! The excitement and happy reactions are something that I strive for with my clients along with a great connection with returning customers who become very good friends

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Getting through the economic and worldwide pandemic was definitely a struggle when it came to building my reputation as a new tattoo artist. I do think word of mouth was definitely the most beneficial aspect in building my reputation because of the true friends that I have made through clientele! Social media also has a large impact on building clients because of the ability to share my artwork so quickly as well as a personal backstory to each piece
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
By far the most rewarding aspect of being a tattoo artist is the instant gratification on each clients face when they see the finished masterpiece that I have completed in their exact vision! I believe I naturally have the ability to achieve the thoughts and quality of work that each client request from me and the personal relationships I’ve been able to build with certain people has been extremely thrilling for me which Continues to inspire my creative side!
